I remember when U2's beautiful day would play on my moms stereo came on and it was really beautiful outside, sun shining, partly cloudy, 80 degrees and not a worry in my head. just me being a kid and cloud gazing while thinking on what I wanted to do next.

@loriefouse604510 жыл бұрын
The lyrics are taken literally to indicate each of the song's verses focusing on a different character. The description of the first character is of an individual who seeks attention ("she only went and did what she did so he would drive her home then"); the second of an individual who wishes for stability & security (she wishes for a husband and a job); and the third, of an individual who values freedom ("I'm headed out on that highway/I'm goin' right out of state"). The three seemingly dissimilar selves are unified in the chorus. 0 7 months ago

Lorie Russell I hear it as three facets of the same woman, and the chorus, as you said, is the clue. Great comment.
@mitherapeuticmassage9 жыл бұрын
+Lorie Russell Unfortunately, you are incorrect. This song is clearly about the savings and loan scandals in the first verse, the second verse is about how movies today are more about violence and making money than to get people to think and to improve upon ourselves. The 3rd verse is about Donald Trump running for President in 2016 and the bands support for his ambitions, while simultaneously bashing Obama and his performance over the past 7 years. These are undeniable scientific facts, and can't be disputed. :D lol

There are still bands that can sell out arenas. I'm not sure about that in the US, but in Europe and other countries, it still happens. For instance, in Brazil, where I live, Guns, Bon Jovi, Roxette, U2, they sell out here!
