Both figures were cool in a 1970s sci-fi sort of way, but since Walrus Man didn't have a detachable arm so kids can play Cantina, I gotta go with Hammerhead.

"Walrus Man" was the single WORST figure of the original Kenner line. From the garish coloring that in no way matched the style of the movie to the random molded shaps (gloves? seriously? Flipper feet---?!?), to the only vaguely-close head sculpt, no figure was as off-the-mark as Walrus Man. Even Blue Snaggletooth was at least in step with the movie's designs. And while Hammerhead's body doesn't come close to what we could see on film (why the odd, baby blue full body swim suit?), the arms, legs and head were simply amazing. Truly looked like a tree trunk race. Well done on Hammerhead!

This was hilarious. So much time must have been spent putting this together. Just to lay it to rest.... Hammerhead was the best sculpt from the first movie, tied with 3po actually.....its just a shame that they didn't have some pants figured out for him. I mean Hammerhead not 3po.....and I do mean best sculpt not coolest character.

@tperson83477 ай бұрын
Haha :) The guy with the shirt the red shirt must be the actor that does the voice for Larry J. Wampa. :) I always saw Walrusman as a butt chin, not a sack chin. They're too perfect not to be buttcheeks. Walrusman is a good standin generic bounty hunter, is among the few figures who have a great pistol grip hand, and holds it his gun at a dirty angle. Hammerhead can also hold a blaster well and definitely puts off good guy vibes whether he's holding an Imp. blaster or a "Solo" blaster. I'm more of a Hammerhead guy. Thanks for the video I'm gonna need this on tape. :)

@tperson83477 ай бұрын
I don't see that as a bad thing, they gotta have names. :) I grew up in the era where they had names, but if I'm talking about the vintage figures, I call 'em by their appearance. Same with Zuckuss and 4-Lom, I have to remember to switch 'em when talking Kenner. :)
@williamwilkinson66657 ай бұрын
Ciscodeer9094.....there names are Walrus Man & Hammer Head ....that's what was on the package in 1979 so those are their names...I don't care what you revisionists from the "90"s what to call them .....I bet you liked the special edition better as well didn't ya .......
@tperson83477 ай бұрын
@@williamwilkinson6665 Isn't that a fallacy? That's like saying, "If you don't like KISS, I bet you liked New Kids on the Block, didn't you?" One has nothing to do with the other. The vintage names are their descriptive labels, they now have names, that's not a bad thing. Back in the day there was no reason for them to get actual names to their character. If we're talking Kenner, I have no problem calling them by their old names.
@williamwilkinson66657 ай бұрын
@@tperson8347 no that was their given name just like Luke , Han and Leia were their given names .... And no it's not different, just like Disney changing the name Slave I to whatever....it will always be Slave I ....
@tperson83477 ай бұрын
@@williamwilkinson6665 Luke, Han, and Leia weren't visual descriptions of the character. Those are two different points. The name of the cantina aliens were all descriptive, except for Greedo. disney changing the name of the Slave I is a third point, totally different. I agree with you on the Slave I issue, though.
