It would not surprise me one bit if someone who was there told me from the moment Richard Thomas started that scene no one else in the scene was acting so much as they were witnessing one of the best performances ever made in a TV show.

This scene and the Dinner Table scene in the All In The Family episode, "The Draft Dodger", I consider the two most powerful moments on TV.

May be a strange thought. But for those of us who came across this video, it was for us to hear. Could be that there is a John boy who needs to stand up and say what needs said. Or a little sweet grandma who has to set down and listen and pray. GOD has a time and purpose for all that is done.
