I look at Hal Williams, and I realize how long it's been since I saw the show during its first run. All the stars on The Walton's bring back dear, treasured childhood memories. Most of the shows we loved. But some hit too close to home. Like the death and stroke of Grandpa and Grandma. Those were sad episodes for our family. We hated seeing them, but on DVDs, we watched them. They brought back memories of our Grandpa and Grandma. I know I can't, but I thank Earl Hamner, Jr. from the bottom of my heart for a show that evokes childhood memories and memories of our beloved, dear family. We watched The Walton's faithfully during its first run. I was 3 years old during the first season. I'm 55 now. You don't know how I treasure each minute of watching these reunion and memory online shows. Thank you. It's two simple words, and they don't express my gratitude, but you get the idea.

Nice to meet you Hal Williams. You are another part of the epic Walton's experience now getting your recognition thanks to Judy. These visits or fireside chats with friends and guests stars as I call , them are a exciting piece to the story weather its directly concerning the Waltons or other aspects of their careers and time in Hollywood. I made a new magic of Hollywood friend here today. Its the rewards of living a long life when bringing up subjects like the Waltons to a generation that wasn't born yet. Their response is no I'v never heard of it. My answer to that is, if you like the Hallmark channel you'll love the Waltons. Iv been with you since the Homecoming, and then reconnecting again during COVID watching the daily broadcast on MeTV. It was like seeing the episodes for the first time, now it's from a mid Sixtys year old perspective. A whole different emotional experience, and appreciation. Nowadays I Make sure im here twice a week, its as gratifying as watching the episodes when they first aired. Always something new to hear. Its your Judy Norton variety channel evolving with the times. Giving the special guest stars a platform to share their story is just one part of what makes this behind the scenes, ask Judy production of yours so enjoyable and appreciated. Just a friendly reminder your doing a great job. Thanks again for a look behind the house as you remembered it. I can see it now ! : )

@@froggy821 Dearest Froggie! 🐸❤💚 I agree, Even tho Summer is warming globally, I still prefer it over blizzards/Winters. I get melancholic as soon as August ends. And it will be almost a YEAR since Judy first mentioned the Festival in Kentucky last Fall 2023. That's when we met Froggie! Fond moments for sure ❤ We finally completed the FAFSA forms but Jon will not attend until the winter/spring semester. Froggie, parenting seems harder as your children grow into adulthood? You're such a young hands-on Grandmother moreover, you and Mr. Froggie have raised 2 wonderful responsible daughters. Parenting is still very daunting to me through each phase of our children's lives. I thought it would get easier as they grew up instead it feels harder Froggie. I can't imagine being Earl Hamner's Mom or Olivia Walton. I'm not tough like them, and Grandma Esther! They have 7x the worry. That's one big reason I watch The Waltons, I have stolen some of their teaching moments (lines) and used them on Jon! 🤩😁 Froggie, it is always so good to see a glimpse or more of you here. ❤💚
@froggy8212 ай бұрын
Lisa Lisa, what I’ve found with parenting is that it’s all just trade offs. When they’re infants you give them a bottle, then you trade off the time consumption of bottle feeding for the mess of food in a high chair. Then the trade off of carrying them till they walk but then they fall and cry all the time. So in my head its all trade offs. Even now with grandchildren. My relationship with my children is still just a bunch of trade offs. When one hard chapter closes and you think it’s all going to be easier…….nope, another hard chapter opens. All you can do is hope you find your footing before it hurts too much. Find the good in the moment. Like watching Judy, the Waltons and talking to Walton friends,(like you) it’s a bonus to life. I wish they would have a get together somewhere in between and us possibly both be able to get there so we could meet. 🐸
@LisaLisa-20232 ай бұрын
@@froggy821 Dear Froggie 🐸❤ I really appreciate your experience/insight. The whole process is still daunting. It's the worrying, that never ends. 😧 and the tradeoffs as you mentioned, are endless too! The Waltons have honestly helped me cope as you noted because the era might be different, but the concern and Love are the same. You've raised children and helped to raise grandchildren. Froggie, that's like a whole new world for me to think about- if Father time allows. I'm just keeping my faith that Jon will start and complete college. 😁😁 Froggie💚❤ If I ever get a chance to meet you😍 and Judy and some cool folks here, I would probably be beaming with Joy and tears! I'm quite sentimental. 🥲🥲

I only know Hal as Harley on the Waltons, and must say that Verdie and Harley were such an integral and special part of The Waltons. Looked forward to seeing them when they were on the show! 👍🏻🙏🏻

Great hearing from Hal about his career and how much Earl used his suggestions for his character. That is why The Waltons is and will always be a great show, the creator Earl was such a caring person.

So nice to see & hear from Hal Williams. A delightful man & very versatile & accomplished actor. I always enjoyed every role I've seen him in. Nice that he stays in touch with his friend and former neighbor, Lynn Hamilton. Thank you for sharing! Looking forward to part 2.

So fun that it was Mr. Senensky was a connection for Mr. WIlliams on The Waltons. Sad to hear Ms. Hamilton is unwell. Getting old is not for the faint. Bless them both, such fabulous actors, not given enough work, in my opinion. I recall them in my youth.

Wow, he's not afraid to express himself! That's good. He's honest, & to the point! That's good too. He also has a wonderful sense of humor Judy . I bet he wishes he could do it all again! He's interesting, he's sweet. Honestly I don't remember him on the Waltons, only on Sanford & Son, he was a gas. The love of God shines out in him. He is amazing such a good memory too. Interesting man, fun to listen to all his stories. God Bless you both ..

Judy, this is just tremendous! Mr Williams, thank you for your story about Earl Hammer asking you for story issues! I can just see that! I appreciate your kind words about Lynn Hamilton too. I'm sorry to hear her health is not good. I've mentioned before here I admire her way of speaking. I had the chance to meet Ms Hamilton at Walton's Mountain Museum and she is a very lovely and gracious person! I loved your storylines on The Walton's. I'm just a little younger than you, but you are so right about the generation gap among some today! Thank you so much for taking the time to chat with Judy and us fans! The apple picking episode is one of my top ten favorites and The Best Christmas is one of my top five favorites! That frozen pond water rescue scene looked so very real I worried everyone would have frostbite !! I admired your work in Roots also. I don't think I recognized you and Lynn Hamilton in Sanford and Son since the characters and costumes were contemporary. You have a lot of fans out here, not only in the U S but abroad as well! Thank you, again, Judy for sharing more of the goodness of The Walton's and all who created such wonderful stories! Bless Walton's everywhere!❤
