Certainly Lucy Li could've. Although she and Oliver Karafa have filed appeals of their murder convictions, at best I see such convictions downgraded from 1st- to 2nd-degree murder. From the dates of their respective arrests they'd deserved to have to, absent a distinction under Canadian law between 1st- and 2nd-degree murder, serve 20 years on their life sentences before getting to apply for full parole. As they were arrested in June 2021 in the Hungarian capital Budapest, that would've meant getting to apply for full parole only as soon as June 2041, when they would've been well into their 40s given their having been 20-somethings as of the month of their arrests for the murder they'd worked together to commit. As, barring reductions in the murder convictions from 1st- to 2nd-degree, the 25-year parole ineligibility periods on their life sentences began back in Hungary in June 2021, both will be in their 50s by the month during which they become eligible to apply for full parole. I'll be in my mid-60s by the time those 2 become eligible to apply for full parole, again barring at worst downgrades of their murder convictions to 2nd-degree on appeals they've filed.

Violating her bail conditions not just once, but twice? She fully expected to be able to get out of the murder charges. She thought her lies coupled with her beautiful appearance would mesmerize the jury. Both deserve to rot. It is disgraceful that they will be up for parole after 20 years! Thank you so much for this one. I live in Hamilton (on the Mountain), a few blocks away from Stoney Creek, which is part of the City of Hamilton. I certainly know this case, and was pleased that Lucy was given the same sentence as Oliver, which is the harshest sentence available. My heart goes out to Jordyn...she had to live through that nightmare, then recovered only to find out that she'd lost Tyler and their baby. The actual sentence was life with no chance of parole for 25 years. Some people are under the misconception that anyone sentenced to life in Canada must be paroled after 25 years, but there are definitely prisoners who will never be paroled, and will spend the rest of their lives in prison. Robert Pickton, who was killed by a fellow prisoner recently, and is mourned by absolutely no one, would have never been paroled. Nor will the likes of Paul Bernardo, Bruce McArthur, Russell Williams, and Luke Magnotta. And I think that most Canadians believe that Karla Homolka (Bernardo's partner in crime) should be on that list.

This case is a dark reminder of how quickly business deals can spiral into tragedy. Tyler Pratt's investment was supposed to be a new beginning, but instead, it entangled him in a fatal plot involving a business associate and a politically connected girlfriend. The elements of Hungarian safehouses and the shocking betrayal make this a truly chilling tale of ambition and murder.

marijuana isn't any better than alcohol. It robs you of your ambition. Makes you lazy. It's a crutch of the worst kind. People might go out on weekends and get tipsy.....uber home, have sex with a stranger. A single night of bad choices. But weed? People smoke all day, every day. So, from the moment they wake, until the moment they sleep, they are under the influence of a drug. They make all major life decisions, compromised. What's the outcome of that? Gen Z!!!! And we wonder why Gen Z are the biggest waste of do-nothings to have ever existed? It's because they're all doped up all day and night. Can't function as basic human beings. Can't even hold down a basic ass job. They are worthless and even worse, entitled. So yeah....keep smoking your weed.....you're doing *GREAT!!!*

I’m honestly surprised he went so easy on the victims. Dude probably didn’t deserve to die but he lent millions of dollars of money procured through drugs to another idiot WITHOUT an actual written contract (definitely didn’t want a paper trail of any kind). My heart goes out to the kid she lost but her hubby probably would have ended up in jail eventually with her possibly also in legal trouble as an accomplice. And as for “turning his life around for the baby”, his other kids sure didn’t get him to see the error of his ways why would this one?
