Did they resist or did they just hide the majority of the time when the dragons would return and torch the place. But Dorne did stand there ground a few times, landing that one devastating blow. By torturing and killing Queen Rhaneys and Meraxeys. That letter they sent to Aegon, that depicts him reading a letter and him being so mad that his head begins to bleed 🩸 is thought to be illustrating what was done to Rhaneys.

Hey if your home nation is invaded by a threat willing to strip your homeland of everything that makes your nation great for their own selfish reason wouldn’t you do anything to win and defend it.

I wonder if GRRM based the invasion of Dorne off of Napoleon’s invasion of Russia in 1812.
