I gained weight and my blood sugar control wasn’t as good as I wanted to be… and it hurts knowing that these setbacks are a result of my own inaction and refusal to take responsibility for my own health. I have allowed the most important thing in my life to entropy… but Issac is correct here, even in nature there are second chances. This was exactly what I needed to hear right now. Growing strong and preserving that which preserves life itself takes work and energy, but in the end it’s always worth it. I’m going to correct my mistakes, and undo the entropy that I have allowed to set in while I still have the time, energy, and strength to do it so I can preserve my life and see to it that my legacy isn’t a graveyard full of boats. Tons of videos out there about emergent behavior of structures, of "order", from many many particles obeying very simple rules. Imagine the structures that will form from far more complicated rules, rules such as highly coupled enormous systems of nonlinear partial differential equations. (PDEs) And, strictly, entropy has nothing to do with "order", as there does NOT EXIST some well-defined quantitative definition of order. Even check wikipedia: it defined entropy as as a measure of energy NOT available to do work. (Of course, entropy and energy have different unit, hence, why "as a measure of" is in there)

Order and chaos are concepts that are not even objectively defined. Some people would argue raw nature is chaos and a civilized bustling city is order. Other people would argue a city is chaotic, and nature is peaceful and in order. The goalposts can be completely flipped based on opinion, and not even a moral one. Saying things like gravity or physical properties of the universe exist in such a way that we and our world came to be is infinitely less likely compared to us and our world existing as they are *because* of universal properties that existed long before us.
@libertyprime93076 ай бұрын

In my lifetime I've seen many many humans develop delusions to protect themselves from uncomfortable thoughts. I theorize it's due to neurological traffic going through the amygdala. Some people have more amygdala activity and some have less. Sometimes it's a very noticeable delusion that causes a person to eventually end up in a mental institution. An example would be the movie Shutter Island. The main character experiences something so horrific his brain creates a delusion so he doesn't have to experience the uncomfortable thoughts anymore. Most of the delusions I see are milder and incredibly common among the population making the them seem normal....Even plausible. If a lot of other people share the same delusion then it must be true, right? The most uncomfortable thought most people ever experience is the realization that they will eventually cease to exist. As soon as someone mentions an idea that suggests you wont die, however implausible, your brain yearns for it to be true. It yearns so hard that neuronal paths begin to bypass the amygdala creating a delusion that you'll somehow continue to exist in a spirit realm, or resurrected on Earth, or reincarnated. You will think this until you feel comfortable. Everyone does this. But, some people with less amygdala traffic are able to force themselves to think the uncomfortable thoughts until they grow to accept the hard truth. Lifes Hard Truth: Our parents built a bubble of protection for us making it seem as if the world isnt a dangerous place. In fact, the truth is we were born in the middle of a battlefield. Life is horrific with people dying around you CONSTANTLY and not in pleasant ways. You will also cease to exist. It sucks, but at least now you know the truth and can begin seeing all the silver linings and realize it's not as bad as you first think. The only reason you're alive right now is because many other creatures died so you could reuse their molecules. In a sense no one ever ceases to exist completely. You will become part of other creatures and you won the lottery even existing at all for the time you have. All religions are the result of amygdala activity trying to protect us from thinking the horrific truth. WAKE UP! SEEK DISCOMFORT. SEEK TO UNDERSTAND REALITY NO MATTER HOW UNCOMFORTABLE IT IS.

Entropy has a specific (mathematical?) definition, and it is the measure of the amount of microstates per macrostate. The more microstates there are that can represent a given macrostate, the more entropy that macrostate has. The 2nd law of thermodynamics is that systems in thermal equilibrium takes on the macrostate which has the largest number of microstates. For example, gas molecules that fill the entire container will have many more microstates than if the gas molecules are all clumped to one corner of the container leaving the rest of the container a vacuum. When the gas molecules are clumped together, there is less space per molecule, and therefore fewer configurations per molecule thus fewer microstates. For a gas that fills a container, each molecule has more space - it can be at one end of a container or the opposite or anywhere in between, each position representing a different microstate. This gets compounded as you start including other molecules and their own available configurations. An analogy is there are more permutations per combination in rolling ten 6-sided dies than rolling ten 3 sided dies. Each dice represents a molecule, and each side represents a state. The dice with more sides is like the molecule that has the freedom to exist in any location of a larger container, whereas the dice with fewer sides is like the molecule that is confined to a smaller container. Combinations represent macrostates while permutations represent microstates.

Curt Dolittles work and the Natural Law Institute have a lot to go with this. I'd encourage a look at it. And if there's anyone in the NW area, they'll be hosting an event there soon.

There is no chaos in the density beads example. Either yours or Nye's. It is a system designed to do exactly that. Take beads that have different densities, separate them, then slowly bring them together because the liquids separate and the blue are less dense than the salt water and the white are more dense than the alcohol. it's a closed system that is shaken up to create chaos that is designed to restore order from that chaos. because it is a closed system, it will always do that.

I was watching the video and I realized at 3:25 the windshield on the v-hull boat in the middle is the piece I need for the boat I’m restoring that is exceedingly hard to find, where I’ve been having no luck with acquiring lol

I don't think you understood the point Bill was making. I am not sure what you thought he was saying, but I think he was just saying that we can be tricked into thinking certain things even with very clear visual/physical evidence. His point was that we need to continue to use science to understand our world, lest we be tricked and wronged. I don't think he was trying to explain entropy or make a point about it at all. Someone link me full context if I am missing something outside of the clip.

This video perfectly illustrates why grandfather Nurgle is a fundamental and inescapable force and probably the strongest chaos god.

This video shows that the grotesque world of Warhammer is fated without the gods of law and order.
