what's frightening about the Switchblade (and the Hellfire Ninja, blade deploying, missile) is that they could both quite easily be used within the borders of the nation for assassinations without anyone knowing. they are assassination tools, they are terrifying. a Ninja missile could be dropped on your neighbors house without you knowing. A Switchblade could eliminate a car or individual in an isolated place or quiet area on the highway without alarming anyone. Domestic strikes. that's what is frightening.

The speed and altitude of drones is going to make them tough to hit. Duck hunters might be a good addition to teams. Pintails are fast!

Love that underbarrel concept. Betcha it would make a fortune in the civilian market in 12 gauge.

A good discussion. Can anything larger than 10GA be used in the civilian firearms market? What about RF or LED arrays? Those can be very effective.

It would not be that hard to configure passive or active radar to acquire targets combined with servo motor targeting by azimuth on an automatic shot firing gun. It would have to be vehicle mounted or transported . They have a version on US Navy ships. I install and program a similar technology on private yachts , at nighttime on a dark ocean the radar and infrared, thermal cameras picks up a target , sends the information to the autopilot which steers the boat around the danger while tracking its movement from wind or wave, it will also steer around other boats on a collision course moving . And it doesn't have to cost 10 million dollars ! These units could also be placed on all terrain robots to protect infantry assaulting the enemy . This is 2024 ! automated weapons are the future , take human error and human panic out of the equation making them far more effective . With CNC machining and 3D printing they can be mass produced at about for 5-10 thousand dollars each " an 2 million dollars each to bribe retied generals and politicians".

I'd like to see a part of the handguard drop with the barrel so that your hand never touches the actual barrel. That thing is going to get hot quick.

I can see something like a 37mm launcher which are legal to own as it is classified as signaling device. now 37mm anti-drone loads will be a problem because of course laws and regulations. installing a master key like device means you now have a short barreled shotgun or possibly a AOW however technically a 10 ga is over the .5 inch limit and at a whim the ATF can deem it a destructive device and I doubt the ATF will see any sporting purpose for your under barrel break action drone swatter. Not trying to be a Debby downer but until we get the ATF to stop making things up as they go along this will be a tricky project.

Glock will go the way of colt and winchester and remington. His family will sell out and some corporate smucks will either do nothing to innovate and eventually be unable to compete with their own second hand products or they will release some half baked crappy designs that will ruin their reputation. Governments will eventually abandon them for new designs.

Rotate the whole mechanism 45 degrees clockwise (as viewed from the breach). Position is still useful to be fired using the supporting hand (assuming a right-handed shooter), better clearance for loading, and you would again be able to break open the rifle by pulling only one takedown pin.

Trust me on this. I served in Ukraine. MAYBE for a surveillance drone that's hovering, but FPV drones are moving so fast that you would never hit them. The surveillance drones generally fly higher than a shotgun would be effective, and you hear them, but you very rarely see them. once they identified target, the FPV drones will come in to make a hit. I'm sure there is the odd instance where you might be able to shoot a drone, but sadly shotgun isn't the best answer.

Our experiments at the Clark County Shooting Complex, the largest shooting facility in America, revealed #4 hardened shot out of a 3" 12 gauge was the most effective round against drones. No optic enhancement is needed for shooters with skill.

Maybe the Crye Precision Six12 needs to stop being vaporwear. The KS7 from Keltec is also an interesting option that is relatively light weight and compact. Slap a T2 or Eotech on it and you're good to go.

Take the grip off of a shockwave. Using the pic rail, attach under AR quad rail. A3 Tactical makes a solid double pic rail clamp.

If you need something now there are semiautomatic 12 gauge shotguns that can use 9 to 20 magazines or drums even more if mini's will explode your target if carrying a IED. Remember you want to hit your target with ammo that self destruct the target. Just knocking it down could drop it's ordinance onto civilian or friendly forces. Take note shooting even a toy FPV drone is a FAA felony. So practice on sheet shooting.
@FranklinGray13 сағат бұрын
What a bunch of hogwash. A 12 gauge will easily take down a drone and if it's headed straight at you it is easy to hit. Bullpup shotguns are not only short and can easily be slung over the back and drawn quickly, they can fire multiple rounds quickly. I wouldn't go to war these days without one.

Usually I love Isaac and the T.REX Labs videos but this one was pretty out there! Are you working on the underbarrel handguard shotgun or not? Also why exactly is 12 gauge insufficient for shooting down drones but 10 gauge is sufficient? I kept waiting for pattern measurements or field testing, but I didn't see it. As a serious citizen I just don't know what I'm supposed to do with this video. Thanks for everything you do though!

I agree. And if you own a Shockwave, just remove the grip and attach under AR quad rail. A3 Tactical makes a double pic clamp…

Can your design still be used with a suppressor? (Suppressors are becoming SO much more common in both the military, as well as civilian hands). I cant tell from the picture if it will clear the 'average' diameter suppressor (at the muzzle), and if it does, what about the spread angle of the 'load'?

What about wire or chain that unfurls upon leaving the barrel. Hunting bats you take two stones tied one at each end of a piece of string when thrown it wraps them up
