To those who are unaware of Season 6B the end is a regeneration. The Three Doctor’s,The Five Doctor’s and more specifically in The Two Doctor’s where he tell’s Destari he is in fact working for the Timelord’s as punishment. The doctor became essentially a puppet for the Celestial Intervention Agency in canon his mind was wiped after every mission.There are also audio’s and books.

Just watched it. It looks fantastic in colour, well done to all involved in the process. But, having so much cut out messes with the storyline so much, leaving you wondering how that character suddenly ended up in that situation, or how did that situation come about. And the music that's been added in so many parts takes away the atmosphere of the original program. But for those that have not seen the original black and white uncut episodes this will not be a problem. Wonderful to see the war games brought to life in full colour, just a shame it was cut back so much. For me it's more of a novelty, when i want to watch the war games again in the future it will be back to the original black and white version for me.

The colourisation in this was a vast improvement on the colourisation of The Daleks, probably because The War Games contains more "real world" imagery that is easier to colour-reference in order to create the overall illusion that the whole thing was filmed in colour.

I am very well aware that this is NOT replacing the original 4.5 hour ten part epic, but rather it is a new way to experience it in both color and at a more “accessible” run time for screen viewing. Look, I understand wanting to be positive, and I shouldn't judge things before I see them...but The Daleks in Colour's biggest issue was trying to cram 175 minutes down to 75, which meant the final product was nigh-incomprehensible. 250 minutes to 90? I shudder at the thought.

Can we please have as much dedication and effort spent on realizing the remaining 'lost episode' stories as there seems to be in titivating fully extant stories for Special Editions, Blu-Rays and exclusive streaming..??? I live in hope of an epic Mission to the Unknown / Dalek Master Plan DVD box set one day, with extant episodes complimented by animations and the superb B&W UCLAN performance of MTTU, which is now BBC canon. A challenge, 'yes', but if the BBC is tight for cash then going for a dead-cert restoration with Daleks in it is surely a much more bankable venture than something like 'The Smugglers', for example [which is a potential animation leaked by a newspaper that has been spot on with previous inside information].

I love The War Games and I'm curious to see the regeneration, but I for one am not thrilled at the prospect of a 10 part 250 minute story crammed into 90 minutes. I will still watch it on premiere and buy it if it releases on physical copy, however I prefer to watch these episodes as they were upon broadcast, in their original story length and B&W format. I also love the animations and wish we had more of them, because I can name a few stories I would love to see and that I'm sure would be fan favourites and would do well commercially. For example, MTTU/The Daleks Master Plan as you mentioned above, has been talked about and wanted by many for years, including myself. I also think The Wheel In Space would do well too, being (I think) the last remaining missing story featuring the Cybermen. One of my own that I would also love to see, albeit maybe not having as much commercial potential, is Marco Polo. And as you mentioned above, I have been hoping that for this anniversary we would see The Smugglers which has been rumoured and talked about since I believe early 2023. But for now, we can only continue to hope, wait and see.

I think there's proportionally a bit more filler in the war games (as in scenes not crucial to the conveyance of the plot) than in The Daleks, and in my opinion the Daleks colourisation still included all the necessary information for the plot. It's going to be conveyed differently for some parts for sure, but I think it will still do the job and be fine. If anything I'm looking forward to having a version of the war games I can indulge in on a whim that offers a different experience. I'm sure many people also would have less interest to watch the war games in the spur of the moment than a normal sized serial for instance. And besides, the original cut will still exist and I'm sure will be included with the colourisation like such was the case with the Daleks.

Nope. No part of America is in the UK.

It won't be a Tales of the Tardis situation, thankfully. True, we won't get to see it broadcast, but two or three months after it airs in Britain, it will be available to purchase for streaming on Prime Video. And following that, the Region 1 media release will be available in June or July. We may not get it immediately but we'll get it!

yeh troughtons just a brilliant actor i think awesome, very skilled at his job, The Best Dr Who i reckon, hes very watchable All his Dr Who stories, are good even the underwater menace has something going for it.

Yeah, just wish more of his missing episodes were found. What a joy it was in 2013 when all missing episodes of Enemy of the World and all but one of Web of Fear were recovered. Particularly Enemy as I was disappointed when Ep3 was the only surviving episode. Now we can enjoy seeing more of Troughton in a dual role as 2nd and Salamander.

10 episodes down to 90mins...that is a brutal cut if ever there was one of one of the very best Dr Who stories ever....looking forward to it of course but I hope as these increase in number there is greater freedom to give stories time to breath!

This looks so much better than the remastered version of The Daleks from last year. Having colourised a lot of black and white images myself (which, incidentally, I was inspired to do after reading about how a lot of Jon Pertwee era Doctor Who episodes had to be colourised due the original tapes being wiped), I know that that has a lot to do with the quality of the original material, but I still find it impressive that a lot of the clips shown here look like they were actually filmed in colour.

I'm guessing the Fugitive Dr is actually a pre Bill Hartnell incarnation so I think not between 2 and 3, but that's just my head canon😀not RTD's !

I actually enjoyed this version. Not as good or well paced as the original but I enjoyed it for what it was, a heavily edited down movie length version with updated effects and musical score. Doesnt take away from the original because it still exists ^_^
