I hadn’t seen that one up close yet. So I appreciate this video. I bought my first tomahawk in 1987 for a black powder kit I put together. Still have it and carry it to rendezvous. And been collecting tomahawks ever since. Love the traditional styles, but also love the modern tactical hawks. The CRKT Kangee is a fantastic tool, chops great and throws easy too. I have more than one of every type of SOG Tomahawk. I took the head off of a SOG Voodoo Mini tomahawk and put it on the (longer) handle of the SOG Tactical Hawk. It’s now my absolute favorite tactical tomahawk.

I watched the Patriot 3 times in one night! I had the DVD and watched all the special features, including the movie rolling while the director and Mel Gibson were talking about it. Everyone should watch that movie, because we all need to decide where "the line is," and what we will be willing to do when that line is crossed! I'm definitely buying this War Hawk. Thank you so much!

The movie is great! And so is the War Hawk !! However I prefer the Trench Hawk (same thing with a slightly different head attachment). With the Trench Hawk you get a slightly larger "cutting edge". Again, both are great. I eventually bought both & learn towards the Trench Hawk a bit more. You really can't go wrong with either one if you can't justify both (which is completely understandable).

I tend to favor or buy nice primarily but I was thinking of getting some of the more traditional tomahawks and axes like the pipe Hawk and such from Cold Steel just so that I could modify them like I've seen people do change the way they look

I am watching thos, and my main thought is, "man, this guy really loves this tomahawk." I have been looking at tomahawk seriously lately and can't really make up my mind on a first purchase. But maybe the War Hawk is a good choice.

I have the Trench Hawk. There are tons of people complaining about the handles breaking where the metal meets the plastics. Well mine broke after about an hour of throwing. The thing throws REALLY well but the handles just aren't any good for it. Yes you can replace them, but my god it takes months for Cold Steel to ship them to you. So, don't throw. I'll stick to throwing the Shock & Awe from Browning. They do make excellent lightweight multipurpose tools for forests and mountain hikes though.
@411Outdoors3 жыл бұрын
Great assessment my friend. Like you said, they do throw well but the handle coming off is a little trifling to me as well. I did a review on the Estwing Tomahawk as well. It’s full tang and better suited for throwing. I’ll have to check out that tomahawk you mentioned as well. Thanks!
@XenonLxx3 жыл бұрын
@@411Outdoors So back to the topic of CS's hawks. I cannot find any replacement handles anywhere. They arent available on the official site either. Tried asking some stores that order from CS to get me some handles, they agreed but later notified me that they were out of stock. I tried ordering from some american sites (as a european) but the only site that offered them was a clear scam site (fresh new with a fake physical adress and no contact details besides some email that doesnt respond). There are no handles anywhere. I have contacted Cold Steel via their support but that is really the last idea that I have. So do not break yours 😄
@411Outdoors3 жыл бұрын
@@XenonLxx 😂😂 thanks for the heads up my friend lol. That really sucks on their part. I don’t throw that one in particular anyway. Saving that bad boy for a rainy day😂 If anything, we could prob make a super cool wooden handle for it.
@XenonLxx3 жыл бұрын
@@411Outdoors I have made a wooden handle but it's my first one so it has some flaws. Issue is wood doesnt feel as good as the plastic did, and is a bit heavier. But yeah, if you dont throw it, it should last a long time. Those are the best axes IMO, but there is nothing like them on the market... if everything fails I'll prolly just buy a warhawk and take care of it as if it was my baby 😆
