The U.S. strategy: "We're 'Murica for God's sake, and God is always on our side. We are the indispensable, exceptional nation and as such simply cannot lose." It's pathetically laughable and makes me ashamed to be an American for the first time in my 61 years of life. A big part of that shame is I've only started to realize it in the last few years.

@@arostwocents What would demonstrate that the Israel lobbyists have in general more influence over the United States than any other special interest group though? How do we know if there's not just a group in the establishment which has an interest in keeping the conflict going regardless of connections to Israel, and is outmaneuvering the opposition? If both were the case, then which one would matter more?
@claudermiller
@claudermiller 25 күн бұрын
@arostwocents he completely dropped out of the conversation on Israel. Maybe he's Jewish? I know he tried to portray Hamas as being a group under western control early on which I don't believe. This war is terrible for the west. If Hamas was acting for the US it would make more sense for them to disappear and let Washington and Israel claim victory.
@claudermiller
@claudermiller 25 күн бұрын
@ragabara1031 what would demonstrate it to me is that Israel's actions are so destructive to the US. If their lobby weren't so powerful the US would have thrown them under the bus years ago. Also because Netanyahu has bragged about Israel controlling the US. That's kind of a giveaway.

This war will be over when Russian units are crossing the Dnieper River and advancing west relatively unopposed. The AFU command has no stated objectives as their goal is the slaughter of anyone who isn't a NAZI. These are the Ukrainian 73% who voted for an end to corruption, and peace with Russia, when they voted for Zelenskiy. Ukrainians have never wanted this war, and have fled the country since 2004 for this very reason. Everyone who comments on Kiev's "strategy" makes the mistake of thinking the government is concerned with Ukraine's best interests. Vladimir Zelenskiy, “I hope that the Congress will approve this financial assistance for our crimes… country”. The notion the most corrupt nation on Earth could successfully defend itself is laughable. Ukrainian defence is designed to protect oligarch Swiss bank accounts and fill them with skimmed 'aid money'. Like all other US-NAYOYO collaborators, constant whining for support is just a way to ‘skim’ more money before defeat ends the good times. As the whining gets louder, the war's end gets closer. This explains Zelenskiy's begging for more money and weapons to sell on the black market. Franklin Delano Roosevelt (FDR), 1936: ‘We had to struggle with the old enemies of peace - business and financial monopoly, speculation, reckless banking, class antagonism, sectionalism, war profiteering.’ Ninety years later nothing has changed in US-NAYOYO countries or their collaborators. Thomas Mann (1875 - 1955): "War is a cowardly escape from the problems of peace."

I get where he described integration of equipment. I operated a heavy recovery vehicle in the British Army. It was equipped to recover any vehicle in the entire British fleet of wheeled vehicles. Now imagine how you would cope with multiple countries vehicles. The mechanics were trained on our vehicles not multiple foreign variants. So even from a logistics and engineering standpoint it’s a massive problem. Then add to that the fighting forces operating multiple platforms.

Dear people, no matter how well coordinated the West's input might have been is completely irrelevant; the reason being Russia would have never tolerated a defeat against the West on the Ukrainian soil, for the Russian nation it was, and it is a question of to be or not to be: it is an existential struggle; losing to the West is no option; even if it demands of Russia to go for its nukes against the West! The West likes to play silly games at the expense of others, but Russia does not play games when it comes to its survival -- the same applies to China!

Jacques Baud asks the right question: what is the motivation of the Ukraine, what of Russia. However we need to differentiate: What is the motivation of the Galicians and what that of the Russians. The Galicians want a racially pure state integrated in the US empire, like the Polish. The Russians of course want to stay sovereign, outside the empire and in their cultural sphere. Now we experience the violent divorce which will end the Ukraine and split it up into its ethincal constituents.

@@JP-ve7pp I listen carfeully what he said. First he makes the affirmation and then he retropedal on his affirmation. Ukraine, nato and Russia: the whole thing is mix. And nobody know for sure what the end of this war really mean. The zlensky gang is clearly loosing. But we don't know yet up to what these people are winning to go and to what point the western political leadership is winning to double down in the hope of not loosing face.

A brilliant analysis and in depth assessment of the realities surrounding Ukraine, in this Western pushed tragedy! The thorough explanation that Col. Jacques Baud has given here, leaves no room for doubt in the minds of the audience , as to the fact that this entire conflict was needless and the suffering and loss of lives on both sides could have been avoided, had it not been for the hubris and reckless behavior of the U.S. and its NATO Allies in this entire endeavor! As Col. Baud pointed out, the West never had an effective strategy or game plan for the Ukrainians, from the outset of this conflict. The shortcomings of this have only increased over time, and causing Ukraine to suffer one catastrophic loss after another, losing hundreds of thousands of soldiers, and significant portions of territory to the Russians , as a result. In the end, what will be left of Ukraine , will be a failed state, that likely will never have the potential to thrive again. This could have all been avoided, had the West allowed Ukraine to settle this via negotiations with the Russians at the outset of this conflict , as was well in the process of being ratified by both Russia and Ukraine in early 2021. Thank you Nina for inviting the very knowledgeable and experienced analyst, Col. Jacques Baud, back on as a guest, to your wonderful podcast! We are all better informed after listening to his responses to your thought provoking questions. You are doing an excellent job keeping us all well informed, keep up the good work!

When he's talking about Sun Tzu, part of what Ukraine is able to achieve we also need to include both sides. What is Ukraine's strategy for making Russia give up its aims? Going to the 1991 borders doesn't actually make Russia capitulate. Not only does Ukraine lack the remaining men to get back to the 2014 or 1991 borders, but it also lacks the forces to reach Moscow as an obvious extension. Diplomacy, with war being an extension thereof, seems to be a tool outside their toolbox. Diplomacy is only being used to sustain the fighting, when fighting is only happening because the two involved countries are being kept apart. While some complain about Istanbul - Ukraine went on fighting because of promises it was made. It could have swallowed the bitter pill, much as the Austro-Hungarian Empire also could have in 1914. Does the country survive, or not?

Yet as long as the Kiev's regime is in place, the war will go on. As Russia is not willing to go up to the Polish and the Slovak borders, this war can last several years unless the US and Europe stop helping Zelensky. Remenber that Russia had to go up to Berlin to end WW II.

The problem of Ukraine is threefold: 1. Lack of people 2. Lack of weapons and MIC 3. Lack of ideology - the country is too diverse with central and eastern part honoring Russia and western part pro-west. With those limitations Ukraine never had a chance to prevail against Russia. West new that but they do not care about its Ukrainians who are dying(((

@@lukasfontana7589 Gravity works downwards not upwards. You fall from the 120th floor to the 1st floor not the other way around. Usually you won't fall alone. People with a lot of lead in them tend to fall ahead of you. except for the ones who were loaded down with lead where it all started and never made it to the 120th floor. Like they say, its a game of give and take. If you are going to give, you will have to take. .

The problem with this is is that it's right in our face. To put into perspective the cause for civilization. In the macrocosm that could be understood in the microcosm, of a single life. Where does it lead to ? To an empty grave that we can fill. You're missing the cause of creators objective, and that you cannot run from. Why would you want to stop those that are subjective to alive that is beyond the comprehension of the objective. There's no purpose in that
