Always liked the song but this is the best version ever captured that I've seen and that includes the original recording. Adam playing the harmonica and Charlie's big grin in the background, the sax, the photography. I watch this every day just to feel happy
@Red_Vega4 жыл бұрын
While I respect your opinion, I have to strongly disagree. I feel like that extended slow intro doesn’t work well for this song. It has to come barreling in full force. I think the best live version of this song is the KEXP one. The way he just rips into that guitar solo brings a tear to my eye. But regardless the song is still beautiful
@jghotier1674 жыл бұрын
I agree. The other guy in the comment section is right about the KEXP being an equal, but only because of the solo. The 2 are very different versions though and hard to compare. This is my favorite version, acoustic, beautiful intro and amazing strumming and melody on the outro . The KEXP version is equally amazing, electric and has that sick solo at the end. This is the best acoustic version. KEXP is the best electric version 🙏🙌👏
@markrowe69674 жыл бұрын
@@Red_Vega I've watched both again side by side with a friend and I still think this is the better version as does my friend. I agree the KEXP version has the better guitar solo (one of Adam's finest in fact) but this is overall the best version and my opinion will not be swayed! Haha, we are all just lucky to be alive whilst this band are in the worldc

I love the shots to the audience; the different expressions of wonder at what they’re witnessing. There’s nothing like live music performance that evokes this feeling.

Gonna see them live for my first time ever next Thursday. If they play this song, find me in the crowd bawling my eyes out

Without fail, this song always brings a tear to the eye, particularly when Adam begins with the harmonica through Jon’s bari sax solo. I love how music does that.

Me too. But I highly recommend the live version at Best Kept Secret festival kzbin.info/www/bejne/amGzd5yiq71-aZIsi=tdeTliKLIQdTxxdH and his live performance of this song at KEXP (kzbin.info/www/bejne/enacdp-vj8-NetEsi=GSFds9UYggJP-pPy) Search both. The guitar solo when he performs live is what makes the song. Leaves tears streaming down my face and transported to those summers of youth where you fell in love so deeply thinking it would last forever, and anything felt possible. ❤

Seeing them for the third time in June and I cannot put into words how good they are. Their live performances take you somewhere else for a couple of hours and you come away feeling more alive. The best band to exist ever for me.

Hearing that saxophone, you have had to have been there, although I wasn't THERE, but back at Radio City Music Hall in NYC, I remember him playing that saxophone how mesmerized I was! Just absolutely beautiful! Then you got your fun dancing drummer, your keyboards, those guitars, and, as they say, you don't miss the bass til it's not there, that deep, warm, bass! And, of course, singer-songwriter- master guitarist maestro, Adam! I love you guys! Stay healthy, I can't wait to see you all again, healthy and playing in concerts after all this COVID cabin fever.

Helene, I could not agree more with you. Charlie absolutely brings this song up 10 levels with that sax. The louder the better.
@helenesuss46063 жыл бұрын
@@billofsale9878 Charlie Hall is the drummer and John Natchez is the sax player, and either Charlie has lots of friends in NYC, or it was his birthday, because he got a lot of applause from where I was sitting at the Central Park Concert!
