Thats some serious mineralization. My yard sounds about the same, but its purely from iron trash. Dropping sensitivity to 12-15 helped somewhat with the stock coil, getting a 6 inch coil made a world of a difference.

Small coils have to process less ground. When the ground is hot...small coils are way way easier to use

I've also noticed that with big coils in heavy iron contamination, if there is iron near the edges of the coils as you end or begin your swing, NOT under THEM, they will also create falsing. It seems like you have a lot of contamination at this site as well which is why you're not hitting the coin from every angle. Its similar trying to detect near the playground poles with a big coil. I did this test with a large rusty bolt about 4 inches away from the edge of my Legend coil as I swing and I couldn't hit a silver dime on the surface let alone in the ground. I never went over the bolt...........it was just beside the edge of my coil.

hello, first of all I want to thank you for your channel and the many videos posted daily, I have taken a lot of advantage when I go out with the detector.. I have the legend and I am very happy with the detector, I usually use it at 15 kw and I have had good results ..my question is why do you always use the recovery speed at maximum or almost ..in this video wouldn't you have a better result putting it at 6 or less!? Thanks.

My ground is dense clay and is mineralized. Dropping the recovery speed low does not get you deeper targets in mineralized ground. If I set the recovery speed at 6, I probably would not find much. If you are hunting in mild ground with few minerals, you can get away with lower recovery speeds.

Can you try a sovereign or excalibur . They are slow sweep . But they good in mineral soils.

Hi, I'm wondering your thoughts on multi frequency and steel cored coins I heard someone say that the vanquish dosnt work well on modern canadian coins, so I asked that question in a canadian Facebook group About 4 people said the vanquish is good in canada, coins come up in the very low numbers BUT have a unique sound and can tell when its a coin 1 person said the vanquish is garbage in canada and dosnt use the vanquish to coin shoot I recently bought my mom a vanquish, and I was worried it wouldnt coin shoot well On the legend 1.05, I use 20khz usually, I need to test multi and coin shooting aswell, I only just updated to 1.11 five minutes ago, but I almost never use multi

Copper, silver aluminum, gold. brass!! A coin that size is a high conductor!!. The numbers probably would not change no matter what metal it was.

As to the extera stuck shaft. Next time after water hunt rinse it out with fresh water straight away. You Always will have trouble after water hunting with any machine ,from silt build up in shafts

The shaft is clear of silt. It does that when the shaft is wet. The upper shaft has a suction because of the very tight clearance.

For someone who makes out to no about detectors , Why would you do a silly test like this , everyone with any knowledge about detecting knows that a freshly buried target is no different to a air test which is completely pointless, trouble with the people who watch these sorts of clips believe all they see ,and sadly most of whats on KZbin is rubbish from people who haven't been detecting that long or simply don't no what there talking about.
