She learned playing bass this way because the instrument was very heavy for the small Ale. I believe she is still more comfortable in the seating position.

Ale with the bass line and Pau swapping between stick and brush. Yes, Dany is a powerful singer but not many singers have such a fantastic rhythm section to back them up. The three of them together routinely dominate whatever they do.

Pau, for her it's like walking like when you listen to the music you like on your headphones, she develops with the tranquility, calm and confidence of knowing that she is a multi-awarded and recognized musician and with the inner peace of recognizing, being very satisfied with it, that this is not another of her moments to shine. Ale, like her sister, is developing with the tranquility that comes from years of practicing on her bass with jazz exercises, leaving in her performance her own well-known "mark" of excellence. Dany... Simply with this Dany shows us why she is the vocal leader of this tremendous power-trio... and that's it!! Thanks and greetings from México!! 🇲🇽 🤘😁✌️ .

They didn't do a lot to change the song, but you sure know it is them. Dany's voice is so strong. Pau just chill back there in the box with her brushes and cross-stick work. Ale with such a tasty treatment of Flea's bassline. This is a great platform for them to show how well they can play just about any genre.

I went back and listened to both the original studio version and a live performance by AM, and I really like the way Dany’s voice sounds better. She certainly injects the same amount of anger and animosity into the lyrics, while as you note, playing the guitar. Add in Pau’s flawless drumming and Ale’s groovy bass line and you have a perfect cover. 😎👍

Pau's favorite bad breakup song. Not much room for Pau to really shine on this one but Dany and Ale killed it.
@The3dikson11 күн бұрын
Dany's voice is made for rock, she definitely puts so much passion into her singing that it's enveloping... it's impossible not to admire the way she sings. Ale is amazing on bass, Pau giving her drums a break so she doesn't destroy them. 🤣
@MrHws5mp11 күн бұрын
They made a couple of PG modifications to the lyrics, but those would probably be needed for live radio anyway, even is Alanis was doing it (the radio play version of You Oughta Know always had the F-bomb dropped out). It's a terrific song. Alanis is such an original and complex songwriter, and the girls absolutely nailed it. It's a very bass-dependent song too, but Aly had it locked down. She's the "quiet one" of the three when it comes to publicity and interviews, but she's super-professional and seems to relish musical challenges.

This cover is soo good! I just love Dani's voice in this and Ale's base is out of this world. And Pau on the drums just matching the feeling of the song perfectly. This is so different from their own "normal" sound, but they just nail it. The sound quality in this reaction video muffles the sound a bit though (some dynamic compression happening I believe). It sounds much better in the video clips I have heard. Go listen..

Alanis Morrisette is one of those singers whose voice just really does not appeal to me. Same as Hendrix and Morrison. That said a lot of their songs are fantastic, I just struggle to enjoy them because of the vocals, so when someone comes along with a voice I do like and performs the songs brilliantly, I finally get to really enjoy the songs. It does not mean the cover is better, just that I enjoy them more. All that said, I am just glad that The Warning have really started to take off big style since Error. They were always great, but now they are great for a bigger audience. They played their first headline gig here in the UK last year, and even that had to be upgraded to a bigger venue due to tickets selling out almost instantly. This year they came back for a tour and played bigger venues. Next year they are back and surprise surprise, an even bigger venue. I am just glad I have got to see them in the smaller intimate venues before they start playing the really big venues.

Forgive me, but I have never found Alanis's lyrics "fun" she is relating a horrible scenario that she lived through, and lived with. Dany's vocals project that pain, and frustration, which is essential to covering this song. Ale's bass line is spot on to Flea's original, which is also essential, and of course Paulina's performance is perfect. A truly A$$ kicking cover, and thank you for reacting!
