Making fun of bass players is kind of a meme amongst musicians. However anyone who plays will tell you the bass player usually holds the band together. For example john paul jones is almost invisible in Led Zep but he really was the glue that held it together. He kept bonham on track.

Ale may be the most talented of the three, instrumentally. (She is the timekeeper for the band, and does have perfect pitch.) But Pau is the main creative force. And Dany is the main performer (and one of the best front persons in Rock today). The Warning is so good because individually DPA are so accomplished at what they each bring to the band.

I think there was a team talk (Rudy, her sisters, her parents, or something like that) motivating her to speak more and feel comfortable doing so, especially because a season of many interviews and band promotion is coming up. It would be good for her to appear more participative. The fans already know that she's like that, but they are reaching new audiences, and it's better if all three of them participate.

For instance, the vídeo from years back when Dany is trying to show Pau how to play her electric guitar, the same one with a Crimson Queen snippet, at the end the way Dany says “I retire”, is totally with her Spanish accent. I think it inly happens more often when they occasionally get into Spanglish which Pau used to do more so than now from what I’ve seen of late.

Great interview. They are always fascinating to hear talk about everything. Even though they downplay it, even in their earliest interviews they were very articulate and had an awareness that was far beyond their years. Thanks for having them on. They will be a major force in the music scene for many years to come.

Yep in some older Spanish interviews when they were all still teens (promoting QOTMS) they handled themselves like true professionals.

I love that Ale (usually the quietest member of the band) is speaking more in interviews now, the bass is (in my opinion) the coolest instrument in a band. I became a fan when I heard the cover of Enter Sandman the sisters did with Alessia Cara a couple of years ago, and I love the new album. I don't speak a word of Spanish, but I like Qué Más Quieres, Martirio and especially Narcisista. Proof in my opinion that music is a universal language.

I have been a rocker for 4 decades and had given up on modern rock for a couple of decades, as I found most modern rock bands derivative and bland, but when I discovered The Warning 7 years ago, they revived my love of rock, plus they are so darn likeable. Also they are the best live act I have seen in decades, fantastic musicianship, insane vocals and world class stage presence. 🤘🏻

This guy is so out of touch. Rock and metal are huge right now. It's just not on main stream radar BY CHOICE. bands like Spiritbox, bad omens, Sleep token are new bands that went viral and are now selling out arenas! You're just out of the loop. There's also new metal and rock festivals all over the world. Just here in the US we had a bunch like Rockville which was the biggest festival ever.

The problem is that this guy specializes in pop music. All his interviews are with popstars. He relates a lot to pop music and whatever is hot on the radio today. He is one of Ariana Grande's close friends, so you can get an idea of who he is. He doesn't have much idea of rock music and in fact I was surprised to see TW on his show which is totally pop. You can tell that The Warning team and the label want to bring them closer to a young audience, which is Zach Zang's audience. It's a good strategy although I'm sure neither he nor his audience has heard many guitars in their lives ha ha ha. And I don't know what kind of audience TW wants to get with these interviews as the young girls that are Zach's audience are not interested in rock music, they are generally interested in popstars and kpop. But if they manage to convert a couple of girls to rock with this interview....mission accomplished.

I think he's talking from the US mainstream pov. Early 2000s and earlier, rock was really ingrained in mainstream and pop culture. It's not like that anymore is all he's saying.

Ale said, "A lot of people don't notice the bass." And, that's true. But when it comes to The Warning, there is no way that anybody will fail to notice the bass and especially the bass player, ALE THE THUNDER GODDESS!

Good interview! From a personal perspective, growing up in California, I've always loved Mexico. One of my best friends is of Mexican decent, and his mother (kind of) forced us kid group of friends to learn Spanish because she thought it was appalling that Americans largely only know one language. The language came and went in my mind over the years, until I started four-wheeling, and a few of us began exploring Baja together several years ago... then it all came back. These days, I do kind of what these ladies did - watch Mexican TV shows and internet videos. I don't have an "immersion school" to attend at my age, but doing media watching does well enough. At any rate, these ladies are amazing, and their music is phenomenal, and I wish them many more years of success!!!

I LIKED A LOT THE RECALLING THE UNDERVIEWED IMPORTANCE OF BASS AS A PART OF A BAND, AS TO SOME IT MIGHT NOT BE THE FRONTMAN POSITION BUT IT IS SO BASIC AND IMPORTANT TO MAKE A BAND SOUND REALLY GOOD, THERE WAS PLENTY OF GOOD QUESTIONS AND THE RESPONSES WERE VERY SINCERE AND DIRECT, GREAT INTERVIEW FOR A SUPER COOL BAND!!!

For us mexicans in the US who love rock/punk rock etc we have bands like Pierce the Viel/Chon/dave Navarro/ Satana/ (we can connect with metallica because the bassist has Mexican roots) and now someone who is actually from Mexico and raised and that speaks English is a breath of fresh air to me. The lead singer almost reminds me of Wolf ALice and the drummer has killer screaming vocals as well. The bassist totally owns the stage as she has the same confidence as female bass player Laura Lee from Khraughbin
