Making fun of bass players is kind of a meme amongst musicians. However anyone who plays will tell you the bass player usually holds the band together. For example john paul jones is almost invisible in Led Zep but he really was the glue that held it together. He kept bonham on track.

Ale was mid teen, if you have kids or ypunger brother or sister you would understand the reason why she changed so much. From shy teen to confidence girl

Great interview. Finally these interviews are getting past the "how did you start" questions and moving onto how the creative process works and how they come up with songs.

They got so animated when asked if burnout was about one of them 🤣🤣
@leekovalskyj92185 ай бұрын
@@jc-aguilar Yes - and especially after Pau said that that (if they were calling each other 'burnout') would be so passive aggressive. All three seemed amused by that idea, and it definitely had me laughing too.

29:44 This is the part where Pau says our fan base addresses us as Dany, Pau and Ale. True story. I was in Minneapolis to see The Warning in 2022. A friend and I were walking in downtown Minneapolis and saw the ladies. When I approached them I didn't say "The Warning". I said "Dany Pau, Ale!"

Their accent is barely detectable.
@lobodanx35 ай бұрын
@@claytonberg721 It is detectable when they want it to be. For instance, the vídeo from years back when Dany is trying to show Pau how to play her electric guitar, the same one with a Crimson Queen snippet, at the end the way Dany says “I retire”, is totally with her Spanish accent. I think it inly happens more often when they occasionally get into Spanglish which Pau used to do more so than now from what I’ve seen of late.

vital thing ! not only turning pages of the standard questions catalogue. host / interviewer shows interest instead of boredom.

Unfortunately for me, I didn't find out about The warning until late 2020. But since then I have met them, and go to their shows that are near me. I have more than one vehicle, and I have different CDs of theirs in each one of my vehicles. I'm happy to say that I will see them again in September.

I'm one of those people that have followed them from the beginning. After watching them grow up they do feel like family. It is their vibe... They are unique and authentic and all those words. And they make great music.

Not quite from the beginning but from just before XXI Century Blood. However, I didn’t start following them regularly (daily to weekly) until QOTMS was being spoonfed prior to its release in 2018.

Great interview. These ladies are awesome. And they f-ing _rock_ like i haven't heard anyone rock in a long time. (Queens of the Stone Age, late 1990's, come to mind) 2:08 That's a tricky question to answer in words. But if you listen to their recent songs, like 'S!CK', 'Sharks', 'Automatic Sun', and pay attention to the feeling, the overall sound, in those brief moments where Ale _stops_ playing and then comes back in... That tells you all you need to know about the role of the bass in (rock) music. (A very good example is the pre-chorus of 'S!CK', where Ale & Dany play this power-riff together, in unison, and then Dany plays this Josh-Homme-esque note bending up, alone, twice. And in-between these two instances, Ale plays just two notes. The _impact_ of these two bass notes there, at that point in the song... Wow!)

The Warning (the band and DPA) are AMAZING!! They are SO MUCH BETTER than "oh, maybe their not that bad". They have a very similar approach to music and life as Rush, and it shows through in everything they do.
