This song is about The Queen, who is confused and doesn't know how to manage the feelings of infatuation towards her crush. She tries to push the feelings down, but that only makes them grow even more. She's frightened by what she is feeling.

This was the first time they played the entire QOTMS in concert. They were worn out not just because of all the effort they put in but also because they were not acclimated to the elevation. Mexico City sits at around 2200 metres above sea level (~7300 ft) which is pretty high if one isn't used to it. Their home is in Monterrey which is nominally at 540 metres (~1770 ft).

The "creepy guitar" sound is due to a repeating dissonance between two notes (Two notes that cause a unpleasant warbling effect). And Ale is pronounced similar to "Ah lay" TimberWolf762 is on every single video from The Warning. I consider them a thing of legends really.

The exhaustion, visible at this show, was from much more than the performance they gave and the high altitude. The few months previous to this show were out of this world busy. Up to that point, it was their most grueling schedule, with all the traveling, interviews, shows, rehearsals, and many other show-biz related activities, promoting "Queen Of The Murder Scene" They were running on fumes, yet still cranked out this high intensity concert. Ale skipped the after-show dinner out, going straight to bed. She was put on doctor-ordered bed rest for a few days after this show. Lunario, where they debuted Chapter four, and played the entire album, live, for the first time, was their biggest headlining show to date. They gave it their all, and a little more.

That would be a lot considering how young they were. But you're right - you can really tell they're giving it their all.

They were going to shelve the song because it was difficult for them. Their dad said for them to keep working on it. The name Ugh came from the frustration they felt when trying to finish it. Also Mexico City is at an elevation of 7,350 feet so there is less oxygen and you get winded more easily.

Mexico City is over 7000 feet, while Monterrey, where they are from, is about 1700 feet. The altitude does make a lot of difference. I've seen them twice in Colorado - once in Denver, where they performed flat out for an hour. I was very impressed that they could keep up the intensity for the whole show.

These girls do aerobic training so that they can perform at peak level - Pau sings on the treadmill so that she has the "wind" to sing while drumming hard! And Dany can do more "man" pushups than I can!! woa-zah!

_Ugh_ is one of my favorite songs of the album, musically speaking. That key change at the end is just _gorgeous!_ I see this one as telling us that the protagonist's love (which was established in the previous song) is unrequited. "Choking on words that you won't give" -- 'you' is the person she's in love with; the words not given are reciprocation of her infatuation. We also get our first glimpse that she's not of sound mind - "suppress[ing her] feelings" and deliberately avoiding reason ("I don't want to understand"). Unrequited love is beginning to take a toll on her mental health. As for how to pronounce Ale's name: it's literally just the first two syllables of her full name, Alejandra.
@williamburkholder769
@williamburkholder769 9 ай бұрын
These days, Ale is playing a much bigger $8000 bass guitar, custom built for her, so her movements are a bit more deliberate. She's also 19 now, and her older, wiser self is more calculating, cool, calm, and collected. Of the three, she is the most introverted and structured, and keeps the other two grounded. When Pau gets emotional, she calms her down. She's the "time keeper" of the band, the metronome. When the computer click track fails, Ale keeps them coordinated.

Ugh, is kind of an under the radar song. I often forget about it, but it's really good. Dust to Dust is a classic and I really love Dany's passion in Crimson Queen which has grown on me more and more each time I listen to it. This is such a great album.

They were having trouble finishing the song, took quite a while to finally complete it. Someone said "Ugh" in frustration, and it stuck. This is one of the songs that did get played at Teatro 2022, check that version out later on your own. Your first pronunciation of Ale, just say Alejandra, and shorten it. Correct, this was song #3, and The One is next.
@mjc1389
@mjc1389 9 ай бұрын
The frustrations they experienced finishing this song came with an unexpected benefit. It spawned the songs The One and The Sacrifice later on this album. Timberwolf762’s stuff is kinda the canon of this concept from the fans perspective. As stated, Crimson Queen is the start of the obsession and Ugh is the frustration of obsession growing.

A once in a generation phenomenon. I saw them live 8 weeks ago in Tijuana where they started with Disciple. Ale’s bass kicked me in the chest and knocked me over, then Pau beat me over the head with her drums and then Dany finished me off by slaying me with her guitar and vocals. Once you go down The Warning rabbit hole there's no way out, like Black Holes (which is one of my favorite songs of theirs).

Oh it’s totally possible to not have had anything bad to say, it’s The Warning, they do not release a bad song. They’re the first to tell you they write plenty of bad ones. Ugh is a perfect example. The name Ugh comes from their difficulties writing it. Ugh was their response to having to work on it. But work it they did and not only did they find a winner, several others came out of the struggle. 50 songs in I haven’t heard a bad one yet. Something might not be to someone’s preferred taste or style but they’re still excellent compositions. Love this album and this concert. Keep up the great work! Like the faster/harder songs? The Warning has does everything from ballads to straight ahead rockers, and does it all really well. I have yet to hear a song from them that I don't like. As you noted there is a dissonant guitar part in there, but it fits the theme of the song, and despite being dissonant sounds as if it belongs there. This is where the queen is starting to fall apart and slide into her obsession and madness. Since you asked for requests, how about checking out a song called Your Toxins by the band Platinum Moon. kzbin.info/www/bejne/gXnVXnukZtF4p5I Glad that you are feeling better.

Ey, amiga.

good eye with Ale, Ale was a little more sassy and animated in those young years, today she is a bit more polished and reserved but still animated. you will hear comments about her being shy, Ale in no way is shy, she loves the spotlight and she loves the attention, its almost like they are still playing the game rock band but playing the real thing for points, they give each other they funny looks when one of them makes a mistake, She is constantly keeping her sisters in line with glances and funny faces, some of her younger interviews like when she was on the ellen show as when ellen put the spotlight on her and asked quiestions Ale seemed to get overjoyed and eyes got big and she had the biggest smile. Dany and Pau love to take over interviews and sometimes its hard for Ale to even get a word in but she will. They all just have so much energy and passion its unbelievable especially when you throw in all the multitasking talent going on, Thanks for Sharing an awesome reaction!!!
