Update: The Warwick ProSeries Corvette now comes in a variety of pickup, preamp and wood configurations. including active pickups in conjunction with active alectronics if desired, or the classic active electronics with passive pickups. Original Comment: Hi there! I hope I can give some helpful information: Our humbuckers are passie and only the electronics are active. With the correct winding of the coils, the single-coil hum is reduced to an absolute minimum, so there is no need for an extra buffer. Thanks for watching!
@leonamferreira8053 Жыл бұрын
Hello, Warwick! Just curious, if I select both pickups to the single coil position, do you think the sound would be similar to a streamer model? I am a big fan of both models, but I think I could get the streamer sound combined with the versatility of the $$ bass in one bass, do you think this is possible?
@FramusWarwickOfficial Жыл бұрын
@@leonamferreira8053 Hi there! Both yes and no. You are correct in the assumption that if you split the humbuckers to two single coils it would create a sound that is close to a J-Style bass or specifically a Warwick Streamer with two single coils. However the deactivated coils from the humbuckers will still effect the electromagnetic field and it will not be quite the same sound as if you had two actual single coil pickups. On the other hand, the on-board preamp can indeed shape the tone and emphasize frequencies that actual single coils produce and having an additional EQ in your signal chain or DAW and targeting the right frequencies can really get you very close to what you are looking for. Hope this was helpful!

I own a Warwick Corvette 4 $$ made in Germany since 2011, and I am still completely amazed by this instrument, which hasn’t moved an inch since I got it. The key word for this bass is versatility. I am totally in love with this bass, and I don't think I'll ever part with it.

Chris Davies I´ve got the 4 string Version of this for about a year now and I agree 100%. This bass is simply a killer Instrument. :)
@kaliforniakorpse7 жыл бұрын
chris have you had any problems with the strings popping and scratching on the pickups creating noise?
@chrisdavies6557 жыл бұрын
I've never had that issue myself. When I first got the bass, the pickups were set-up quite "loose" and elevated, so there was only a small gap between the strings and the pickups. I tightened the small screws in each corner of the pickups to increase the distance and have kept them like that ever since. It all depends on preference and playing style, but maybe give that a go and see if it solves your problem?
@julianthesmooshyhusky89763 жыл бұрын
If you have a low action and a heavy hand, definitely lower the pickups. I learned this lesson first recording on a stingray but it can be even worse when you have a neck pickup that isn’t adjusted

I am not talking about single coil or humbucking mode, but more specifically series vs parallel. Doesn't the impedance factor in to how the pickups load each other, so having a passive blend control means that depending on whether a humbucker is in series or parallel it will interact with the other pick in a different way?

Eric Kamanzi I have a 2009 model. It sounds great, really versatile and beautiful. The differences I noticed though this video : - The Just a Nut is a teddur model on the 09 (I assume yours is the same) where it's a brass one is this video - The neck is in ovangkol and not wenge, the fingerboard remains wenge like this one. - No side position marker, but who cares ? - The MEC pickups are a little difference, on the previous models, the screws of the pickups are integrated in the pickup plastic cover, which is a good point from the previous model IMHO Maybe you already bought your bass, maybe not, hope that helped. This is a great bass anyway.

Sorry, I know this is gonna be a dumb question but...when the control settings are shown (like 0:41), do I have to visualize the instrument as I was looking at it from the front and someone else was playing it? Seems so, given that the PU switches and the knobs look the opposite order than it would be holding the bass to play it (in that case it would be balance - treble - bass - neck pu - bridge pu) Thanks

@benbond34338 жыл бұрын
+Nikos Fender The reason your neck laminates are lifting, is because the neck isn't made of wenge. Yours is made of ovangkol, an alternative to wenge. Warwick used this instead of wenge, from 1999-2012, because wenge was difficult to get, because of an African civil war at the time. Ovangkol is similar, so that's why they chose it to replace wenge. Wenge is much oiler of a wood, so that probably explains the drier laminates of your ovangkol neck.

I have this bass, this exact one he is playing actually. mine was built in 2008. the one thing i am struggling with, I guess because of the way i play with my hands, i tend to play hard so the strings dig into the pickups, creating a ton of popping and excess scratching noise around the actual bass sound...i think it is common with all coil style pickups. I find it intolerable at times. i have to be extremely detail oriented when I play to keep it clean. been trying different ideas, like lowering the pick ups and raising the action a little, but it seems to affect the tone and volume too much....so maybe a compression pedal or noise gate? anyone else struggle with this problem??
@Remyonbass2516 жыл бұрын
Yeah just lower the pickups, as a guy that digs into his strings its the simplest solution.
