First of all, I have to say, it's a question of taste. But if you are looking for the well-known singing sound of a fretless, there's not really a way around using roundwound strings. For example, we equip our fretless basses with Warwick EMP strings which bear the benefit of lasting longer thanks to an ultra-thin coating. Thanks for watching!
@TylerMillsftw11 жыл бұрын
I think they look kind of cool, but the best advantage I bet is balance more than anything. You can keep the balance right while getting a nice cutaway to the last fret.

Ok so I always wanted a Musicman Stingray as my lifetime bass....but after watching a ton of Warwick videos, I am looking for the Warwick Corvette $$ 5 string, these guitars are so beautiful, they could look badass like an ESP ltd or a SG but these look badass in there own way, and i'll honest, these in my opinion are the best sounding basses I have ever heard, I hope to own a Warwick in my life. or even play one.

Hey there Andy! What's that ditty that you play in the beginning of the video. Is there any possibility to get tabs or notes? I know that you made it on the spot but can you recall the notes played? Oh yeah since I have no money to get the real deal is tere going to be a Rockbass Thumb Singlecut version of the bass because I like it very much and I bet there are others!

I was expect this to sound amazing(Given its a Thumb), but to my ears its just AWFUL. That and the lack of upper fret access on the lower strings make this seem like a lose-lose situation :(.

All those exotic woods carefully crafted into a work of art still doesn't sound as good as a mass produced slapped together Fender Jazz bass from the 70s.
@1BassJohn9 жыл бұрын
gimmeagig Boutique basses can sound amazing. That's the difference. I have a Sadowsky, and yearn for something with the rock solid feel of a boutique bass. But you are right, I have a thumb bass I am selling, because exotic woods can sound good in theory (in this case, the Thumb does have a very unique tone). But in my preference, it's so dense and heavy, that it just doesn't breathe. Best of both worlds for me personally is to have a nice boutique instrument with nice breathable light woods like ash etc. Having said that, I have a Warwick SSI 6 string, lighter woods, beautiful :) Forgive the rant ! haha
@bassman32357 жыл бұрын
gimmeagig that's your opinion

gimmeagig the point is it's not supposed to be or sound like a Fender. It definitely has multiple character

Tone doesn't "breathe". It's not alive.

Well a great sounding vintage jazz has the worst modern bass tone. This is a modern bass, will not sound like vintage bass. You have compared a Porche to an aircraft.
