Love your video's ! As a trash man full time, 16 years it's amazing to see how much trash isn't really trash. I scrap and dumpster dive myself. My kids are totally into finding stuff! We have a modular home builder here in my town and we get all the lumber scraps and burn it in our wood stove also. I'm in vermont. Motto for all of us, never stop diving..

It's really cool that your scrap yard has a rewards system. That's a smart way to build customer loyalty.

5:41 show you in a roll-on skip, the company has thrown in the dumpster the blue Chep pallets, these are supposed to be returned to Chep themselve as the initial company who used them have to pay a deposit for them to hire. Can you get money back from Chep if you return them??

I always check the coax cable - some have that shed snakeskin looking inner sheath that is copper, and it's easy to get it out. And the ends are most often brass, so still worth cutting them off at $3+ lb.

give me a hand while you are at it, there is plenty of unused coax on the telephone poles (trust me, not illegal, just bro things)

Yup. Bachelor’s in mechanical engineering. My other biz I own is BuffaloBottleCraft.com … the long term plan is to start an upcycled products business built around the dumpster diving, using the materials I find diving and my manufacturing/product design background

Unless it’s clearly stated on the dumpster or the gate to the area they hide the dumpsters in….no trespassing…it’s free game…however, if there’s anything laying next to the dumpster that u don’t know if it’s been there for awhile or not….just remember that u will encounter “traps” to catch thieves and vandals …and sometimes an innocent person gets caught up in legal problems cuz they went against their better judgement to leave it unless it’s in the dumpster or obviously trash…and took something next to the dumpster….yeah….ive seen t happen a few times to people in my area…they threw the book at them too which was pretty effed up honestly.,..the cops know who scraps and dumpster dive and who are the criminals so when they’re ok with hanging someone who wasn’t intending on breaking any law…it says a lot about the city government

@LoveInTheDumpster9 ай бұрын
The earnings from the scrap, or the earnings from videos? Honestly, I'm an open book, I don't believe in trade secrets and gatekeeping. There's so much opportunity out there, whether it's in scrap or doing videos, if anyone has any questions at all ask away.

This is probably a silly question to you veteran scrappers, but how do they weigh the metal? Is there a certain weight to each make and model vehicle that they deduct prior? As if you couldn't tell, I've never been to a scrap yard. Lol 🫤
@LoveInTheDumpster9 ай бұрын
When you enter the scrapyard you go over a scale and they weight your whole truck + scrap load. You drop your metal in the pile, then go back over the scale. Then they can tell the difference.
