Well, at least Watch Dogs 1 was trying to be ambitious, unique and innovative. Even tho the final build doesn't look like the E3 demos, the complexity of the game is still there. It actually has depth. Every mission you play is filled with details, and all the NPC's are the most organic I've ever seen. Just walking around alone is amazing in this game! This is what makes me play the game over and over again every year! You don't see that kind of effort today! Nowhere near. Today is just pretty graphics and cosmetics.. No wonder gaming feels so boring lately

WD1 is a great game, I've never even tried the DLC for some reason, but that looks really cool as well. And ofc, if you mod WD1 to include some cut content (like with the Living_City mod, it becomes more like how ubisoft originally intended) I honestly never really cared about the graphics downgrade, and I've never used any graphics mods. The game itself is just too enjoyable to care about that.

I genuinely hope Ubisoft will improve the Watch Dogs series. If anything, maybe the 4th game can be a prequel. I was thinking it can take place after the events of WD1 but **RIGHT BEFORE** the events of WD2, basically an origin story. Plus I would like to see how Josh, Sitara, Horatio and Wrench all first met each other and teamed up, and for each of them to have a bit of more backstory

You can already basically learn how Horatio recruited the basic members of dedsec in wd2. Throughout the main HQ of dedsec there’s audio logs scattered where horatio describes how he found each member and how/why they were recruited

Ubisoft did release Watch Dogs with nerfed graphics in order to make the console ones look good. It has very often been like this, game companies catering more to the console market and purposefully nerfing the PC graphics in order not to make the consoles look bad.

There's also MyLittlePony keychains that can be found in random cars in WD1. The charm on it portrays Trixie (I think) wearing Aidens clothes and wielding a sniper rifle. Did look for it myself when I found out years ago and can confirm.

I quite liked watch dogs as a series, and while I disliked legion, I still liked the general idea of a hacking version of gta. Hacking in general has always been a massive fascination of mine, so it’s nice to finally see watch dogs getting some flowers, regardless of Ubisoft’s occasional scummy practices.

It turns out that the E3 demo graphics were available in the full game as it was stated by an odd header video that the upgraded graphics were "switched off" and can actually be used in the PC version. He theorised that it could be because the consoles couldn't handle the higher graphics so they agreed to downgrade across all platforms instead (or were bribed by PS and Xbox not to make their hardware look shot compared to PC)

This is false, there are unused presets but using them does not equal to restoring the original demo graphics

Aiden doesn't actually kill Olivier in that mission. The objective is to just knock him down. Of course if you shoot him, you kill him but not canoncially

Watch Dogs has better graphics than WD2 in my opinion.. WD2 just feels cartoony compared to 1. Watch Dogs NPC models also appear with more individuallity. I see many different NPCs in WD1 but in WD2 the NPCs appear to only have 3 or 4 different faces. I love walking around and exploring in open world games (duh). I'm not just here to hate on WD2, the controls are much better in WD2 and for me, the storyline is better too... i just wish Ubisoft hadn't sacrificed so much to make WD2 better.

WD1 is one of my most favourite games of all time, it's something i always return to, i like the kinda Need for Speed: Wanted/Burnout Revenge part of police chases where you can take out the cars in a "less lethal" way, the gun takedowns are great, and I've discovered a lot of music from it too, even indirectly because of KZbin recommendations and Spotify radio 😂 Aiden and T-Bone are really cool characters, and the game has some quite nice minigames and side missions, it gives a Batman with guns feel imo, it was just sadly overshadowed by a few games.

I'm so grateful that you made an iceberg for Watchdogs, 1 of my all time favourite franchises. Wd1 was just the best for the time it came out despite the downgrades the game held up really well imo, ubisoft bit off more than they could chew imo because yes they may have had this vision but a lot of companies do and then deliver a less detailed final product although the franchise is still very detailed. I really hope there is more for the future and that legion hasn't drawn the line because I think Ubisoft can learn from mistakes rather than just erase them.

Another early development character being different was Wrench, who was originally gonna be more of a big tough fixer type, before they cast Shawn Baichoo, which resulted in the character being reimagined. It is possible that this is why Josh, who was intially closer to what Wrench became, was changed, to avoid them being too similar. If I'm remembering a video I saw 8 years ago right, I don't think Shawn expexted to be interviewing for the role in the meeting he was cast in. Another interesting thing is that Tobias Frewer, minor character from 1 and deuteragonist for Bad Blood actually appears during 2: in the cave match that Wrench is watching during Swelter Skelter, if you look closely, one of the fighters visibly reselbles Frewer, and is voiced by Billy MacLellan (who also voiced Jimmy Siska, who played Devon von Devon in Cyberdriver), furthermore if you speak with Ray in the hackerspace, he eventually realises he abandoned Frewer in the desert, confirming that it was indeed him in the cage.

The mission where Jack asks Dedsec for help, I just played that mission last night. I was surprised that I didn't remember this mission when I first played the game on release, but I wrote it off as me just not remembering it after so long. Now I'm watching this video, and I see it was actually a cut mission all along. This really got me confused as to how I was able to play it in my game then, until I remembered it's probably because I downloaded a crap ton of mods and some mod must've placed it back in.

I have currently been playing Watch Dogs 1, and I must admit, I was a bit too harsh on the game, I am having a lot of fun with the game. But I will always stick with the driving being the worst I have ever seen. Other than that, it felt disappointing from the hype it created, but the game is very fun to play, and very creative in its hacking mechanic

Watchdogs 1 was fun and cool. Watchdogs 2 was fun and GTA feeling but kinda overwhelming at times. Watchdogs Legion was ok, not great but ok, the dlc where you play as aiden/wrench feels what the game should have been, making the protagonist a faceless entity was dumb
