Such a heart melting music. This could remain posted over here for ever long after all these musicians are gone, enthralling newer generations with the sweetness of this tune. Kudos to all the musicians! L❤vely.

yes you are correct I saw John Doan on Stephen Bennett's right, and then Stephen kept scooting over to let Andy Mckee in... what a fabulous gathering and a great video.....and yes, you don't see that everyday!!!!!

I wasn't at the harp guitar gathering, but I am an appreciator of this beautiful instrument and the sound it delivers. How spine-tingling this video was, to hear "Water is Wide" in so many colors and variations from these many artists, all at the same time. Thank you for posting this so all the world can see it! 'Leaves you with a nice warm feeling.....:-)

Has to be one of the most wonderful videos I've seen in a long time -- a harp mandolin is something I've heard about but never seen. It is utterly fascinating to see all the different approaches to the instrument construction -- just awesome. Is this a world record for most harp guitars on one stage? Love that big black Gibson in the middle!!!!!

The harp part of a harp guitar gives bass notes that no regular guitar could ever make. Listen again. There is also a part early on where one player plays a high register harp that is located below the soundhole -- again, a sound no regular guitar could make.

The water is wide, I cannot get oer Neither have I wings to fly Give me a boat that can carry two And both shall row, my love and I A ship there is and she sails the sea She's loaded deep as deep can be But not so deep as the love I'm in I know not if I sink or swim I leaned my back against an oak Thinking it was a trusty tree But first it bent and then it broke So did my love prove false to me I reached my finger into some soft bush Thinking the fairest flower to find I pricked my finger to the bone And left the fairest flower behind Oh love be handsome and love be kind Gay as a jewel when first it is new But love grows old and waxes cold And fades away like the morning dew Must I go bound while you go free Must I love a man who doesn't love me Must I be born with so little art As to love a man who'll break my heart When cockle shells turn silver bells Then will my love come back to me When roses bloom in winter's gloom Then will my love return to me
