One just took up resident in my pond ! Never knew they existed till this week . Seems quite brave as well around me .

Didn't know these existed until my cat brought me one a few years ago. No idea where she found it as we don't live by any body of water - maybe a neighbour's pond? Thankfully it survived and didn't bite me when I put it back outside (had no idea at the time that they're venomous!). Cute little creatures :)

I saved one of these little guys from an awful slow death from one of my cats today it was very cute tho had no use of its back legs unfortunately 😢 so i took it to the vets adleast hes in good hands and isnt suffering alone 😢 i know its only nature but still breaks my heart it was like he was pleading for help putting his little front legs up infront of his face and shaking 😢💔

Shrews are incredible animals as the have the fastest metabolic rate known to man, there venom is toxic enough to kill 200 mice, there brains are 10% of there total weight and the smallest known mammal is a type of shrew...fascinating like creatures they are!!!!
