Just such fantastic writing! Still love Mike Scott. So many brilliant songs over so many years. He's as fine a song writer there's ever been. 🎶🎶🎶

My mate Ralph Salmins is the drummer in The Waterboys, so I get to see them play a lot. I was sat in the second row at the London Palladium when I first heard this song. It immediately gripped me. It is a fabulous story, accompanied by fabulous musicians. Mike Scott - I salute you Sir!

Couldn't agree more though I loved almost whole album from first listens. This song is my favorite from the album but it's hard to chose. So many styles, sounds and highlights. Can't wait for the next album

@@janslowhand1684 : I wouldn't say a masterpiec,e really, but it's also grown on me, like you... A rather cheerful album, with occasional melancholy what I prefer in Scott's inspiration) with many strong melodies... I could have done without the programmed rhythms, yet... It's got some surprises, some very strong songs, some clever lyrics... I got the special edition and certainly like it better than a couple of the previous albums ("...Weary Land" comes to mind)...

Morning Came Too Soon" We went out for a meal to a restaurant she found Walked back holding hands through a quiet part of town Her place was hung with scarves and lit by tiny lights Country music on the player, she said "won't you stay the night?" And morning came too soon Morning came too soon Morning came too soon We kissed, it seemed like hours on her lovers' chair Her hands made expeditions through my tangled hair Her neck was doused in musk, its skin sweet to my tongue I held her in my arms as in my arms she clung And morning came too soon Morning came too soon Morning came too soon We undressed each other gently with care and emphasis And each uncovered piece of skin was welcomed by a kiss Her blouse and pencil skirt fell tumbling to the ground The country record ended, our breath the only sound And morning came too soon Morning came too soon Morning came too soon Her bed was piled with pillows, and a blanket she had sewed We ventured underneath, and slowly I unlocked her code I worshipped her with hands, with tongue and breath and song The answering of her body told me where to linger long And morning came too soon Morning came too soon Morning came too soon There was rhythm in the night, there was magic in the room She drew herself on top, her eyes shone like the moon Her loving mouth, her sensuous hands, and all that they expressed But here I draw the veil, you must imagine all the rest We lay in holy silence, our bodies still entwined She thought she'd found her love of loves, and I thought I'd found mine This folly would be shattered but not while we remained Under night's enchantment, safe in darkness's domain And morning came too soon Morning came too soon Morning came too soon Morning came too soon Morning came too soon Morning came too soon Track "The Waterboys" on Bandsintown Writer(s): Scott Michael AZLyrics W The Waterboys Lyrics album: "Out Of All This Blue" (2017) Do We Choose Who We Love If I Was Your Boyfriend Santa Fe If The Answer Is Yeah Love Walks In New York I Love You The Connemara Fox The Girl in the Window Chair Morning Came Too Soon The Hammerhead Bar Mister Charisma Nashville, Tennessee Man, What A Woman Monument Kinky's History Lesson Rokudenashiko Didn't We Walk on Water The Elegant Companion Yamaben Payo Payo Chin If The Answer Is Yeah (Alternate Version) (Deluxe Edition Bonus Track) Epiphany On Mott Street (Deluxe Edition Bonus Track) Payo Payo Chin (Tokyo Hotel) (Deluxe Edition Bonus Track) Nashville, Tennessee (Live) (Deluxe Edition Bonus Track) Mister Charisma (Alternate Version) (Deluxe Edition Bonus Track) So In Love With You (Deluxe Edition Bonus Track)
