I get a big kick out of this. I've driven the track at Watkins Glen many times, but not only that, I've driven many of the roads in and around the Glen that made up the original circuit. At legal speeds, they are roads that demand your attention, and my hat is off to drivers who challenged them at the highest speeds possible. 10:34 Sign for the Seneca Lodge. Yeah. I've stayed there. The tavern at Seneca Lodge has a lot of memorabilia of Formula 1 drivers from the Grand Prix era. 12:30 Interview with Bill Milliken. An engineer famous within the automotive engineering profession for developing the science of vehicle dynamics. I have his book "Race Car Vehicle Dynamics", co-written with his son. I didn't know he had designed the Watkins Glen tracks.

Very nice document with beautiful images of '72 GP. I saw the NASCAR race yesterday and I saw that the track is basically the same, It's a good thing because is a veru good raceway. However, they should extend the tunnel outside the esses to increase the visibillity on the top and put safety barriers on both sides (the guardrails that killed Cevert are still there). The space outside the Loop should be enlarged too or boarded outside by SB: the chicane is too silly...

It was such a shame when the USGP was taken from Watkins Glen. It still is a legendary circuit.
