Eve begins class with a discussion of Boddhicitta, the intention toward awakening for all beings.
She leads the sangha in a practice of that includes considering what wellness and beauty we can offer the world..
Eve reads from the second chapter of "No Time to Lose", sharing Shanti Deva's verse on preparing the ground of the heart-mind for awakening by generosity as a way pf moving us beyond self-centeredness. We discuss every-day practical ways of doing this.
Class concludes with a practice of foregrounding thoughts, then backgrounding them, and finally resting in awareness of awarenes..
☀️ Eve is currently teaching weekly from "No Time to Lose: A Timely Guide to the Way of the Bodhisattva", the writings of Shanti Deva with commentary by Pema Chödrön.

☀️ Eve Ekman, MSW, PhD, is the director of training at the Greater Good Science Center. She is also a UC Berkeley- and UCSF-trained social scientist and teacher in the field of emotional awareness and burnout prevention. Eve is a second-generation emotion researcher and has had meaningful collaborations with her father, renowned emotion researcher Dr. Paul Ekman. Their most recent project, The Atlas of Emotions, is an online visual tool to teach a language for improving our emotional awareness that was commissioned and supported by the Dalai Lama. Eve is the co-lead instructor for Cultivating Emotional Balance, an evidence-based meditation and emotion regulation training developed by Dr. Paul Ekman and Buddhist scholar Alan Wallace.
