Finally, someone who appreciates the song like I do! I love YG music, so I'm glad that BABYMONSTER, the new generation of YG artists is still carrying that signature sound. People have a lot to say about this 3-minute song, but why not just enjoy the music? BABYMONSTER is just starting out, and they'll have plenty of time to explore and find their own color. To be honest, at first listen, I really thought it was mid. But after several listens, it grew on me and I actually like it. It also happened to me on some YG group songs. But I really do think, this is a good debut, if not the best. It has the YG signature, which is a distinct style, an identity of its own. A lot of the comments I've read say, they are Blackpink copycats, et cetera, et cetera, and don't have their own style of music. But when BP debuted, they also said they're 2ne1 copycats but look where they are today. Baemon is a rookie group and they could still find their own color in their idol journey. I think some are just nitpicking on these girls just because they're from YG (a lot are still hatin' on the company).

I think this is what YG intention tho. If you watch baby monster documentary again, there YG said that he want to bring back THE OLD YG, the YG that used to be. The original one. And they did it. And i'm glad they did it. Because i could feel the original kpop again like in gen 2 era. I miss that kind of kpop. And to people who said baemon is just a replica of blackpink or/and 2ne1, i don't quiet agree with that. Because they just did it in YG's style. That's why when YG's gg debut they always said the same thing: " uh they just copying bigbang" or " uh it's 2ne1 all over again" or " they cloning blackpink" etc. Well, all they did is put YG color in their group. Treasure and BP producers ALL worked with GD and Big Bang so everything you hear from Treasure or BP are part of YG's DNA going back to the 2nd gen. An agency having their own distinct style(Hip-hop leaning for YG) is not called recycled stuff but something to be proud of because it means they're not turning into McDonald's like other agencies for the sake of catering to any specific market.

I am proud of YG for not giving up their identity for a quick buck. You see how when NewJeans came along and popularized the refreshing concept (not saying they pioneered it) and had huge success, and then some other groups also started following that (not saying no names)? Meanwhile YG groups have always stayed as themselves, and don't have to compromise. If BAEMON did something other than the YG sound then people would say "oh they copied (REDACTED)" and apparently their getting slandered either way. YG doesn't follow trends, they make them and I'm impressed with their marketing and direction, and looking forward to BAEMON's inevitable sucess. And don't worry I'm not slandering you both YG enjoyers, and casual listeners will be fed with their album in early 2024 (January)

I think YG took the critiques from previous groups and made BM to be better. Like 2nei was visually not okay so when they created black pink they made them stunning and hardcore rap focused but Blackpink got criticised for vocals so with Babymonster they have visuals, rap and vocals.

In the music video the girls sound great. The song is a very typical YG song, which is a bit boring. The pre-chorus, chorus, bridge and chanting outro are so similar in the YG formula, but the flow was smooth and the vocals+rap were nice to listen to. I really want Babymonster to have their own sound, so I'm looking forward to what they will give us in the future!
