What a wonderful holiday photo with both of you and Ottie, Draco, and Peanut wearing cute bows, and Eliza looked sweet with her hat. I just finished making lots of Christmas cookies and used the tins that I found at a thrift store to put the cookies in for gifts to our friends and family. Elli, your chocolate mint leaves with hot cocoa was a crowd pleaser at our holiday party--thanks for the idea. As always, Maddie your photography is capturing the joy of the season~Cheers

Awww I love this so much! I'm filming my holiday KZbin video right now surrounded by so many projects (currently stringing a 18 foot garland of cranberries haha) and this was literally the most perfect accompaniment!! THANK YOU for focusing on what you can find at thrift stores, they are seriously chock full of such amazing finds (I did the same thing this year). And my husband, along with me and my children, my son was actually born in Idar Oberstein, Germany. We lived there for 3 1/2 years. I did not want to leave especially during Christmas. Germany is just absolutely beautiful. The Christmas traditions are amazing. Watching you guys brings back lots of very fond memories of my time spent there. My son was young. He doesn’t really remember a lot about Germany, but my daughter was 10 and she talks about her memories there all the time how wonderful they were. I wanted to stay longer. I probably could’ve stayed there forever. ❤️

We also celebrate St.Nikolas Sv. Miklavž here in Slovenia, we kids gave a plate or baskets outside the door and it usually brought us dry fruit, oranges and baked krampus milk bread or parkelj. Since krampus jumping is also a tradition here.. they look scary, luckilly I never confronted them 😂. It is great to experience new traditions.. Here in the Netherlands we celebrate Sinterklaas. (St. Nicolaas). He always arrives around mid November and we celebrate Sinterklaasavond (St. Nicholas's evening) on December 5th. Which means giving presents. The shoe setting in the evenings is a tradition here in NL as well. It seems we have a lot in common with our German neighbours.

I've visited Northern Germany (Oldenburg, Bremen and Hamburg) a few times around Christmas time and it's so, so much better than the UK. The food, the markets and the general ambience.
