The Weather Channel Hurricane Ida Emergency Feed

Looks like a new emergency feed first used for Hurricane Ida. Never seen this before but thought it was interesting they used this when they went off the air instead of the reality TV shows.

I like how the Weather Channel has properly ominous music for severe weather now. Like in the 1990s they'd be playing their regular smooth jazz tunes when broadcasting hurricane warnings.

I remember tuning in expecting to see Jim Cantore holding onto his hat or whatever and sitting through a few minutes of this stuff cycling. Seemed super ominous, like Katrina was about to happen again

It’s exactly why I don’t watch TWC anymore. The “reality shows” are just unnecessary and I’d rather watch a loop of these graphics with music in the background whenever they’re off the air. Take a look at TWC En Español, they’re doing that with “Twilight”.

@@twcallen Right. TWC en Español in fact, has no long-form programs right now, although they tried airing one or two before “Twilight” on a couple of weekends after they launched. Definitely it is much better than the reality shows.

Imagine that you died while listening to this terrifying dreadful music watching it on you'd phone or something in the hurricane. No forethought from stupid humans It's easy for us to listen to we aren't facing possible death with water 10 feet in our house.

This music is so melodramatic and stressing that anyone in the middle of it would have a panic attack watching the news. Imagine seeing things fly outside and worrying about flooding... somehow still having lower or listening to your phone play this. Really man.

@@smithdj416 most evenings TWC stayed live up until 1am ET. I'm guessing between 1am and 6am ish (When AMHQ gets on the air) this would have been on. Thankfully there hasn't been another Major Hurricane making landfall this season.
