THE WEATHER IS DESTROYING THE HARVEST!!! -- IRISH GRAIN HARVEST 2020

in this video we are finishing off harvesting a field of barley that was damaged from the last days rain which caused the crop to shed some of its heads along with causing the majority of the crop to become tossed and a bit tricky to harvest but we got it all in the end and got the straw baled before the dew with the grain coming in at 18% moisture. also i spend most of the video moaning about the weather.

Phil you need to start side filling when unloading the grain from the combine. You would be surprised how much time is wasted by stopping to unload. My father always says keep the combine moving.

Greetings from Britian, Yorkshire, I absolutely understood what you said, a lot of people don’t, I live on a dairy farm, we milk goats, @Yellison’sGoats we have a Massey Ferguson 135 which was my grandfathers, my dad’s I can’t remember I will check after this video, my brother has a 7718S, basically we are big Massey fans, we also have a tier 5 JCB telehandler, we cannot do arable up here due to it being too wet up here, we can only farm grass, it is interesting to see other UK farms that are bigger, I assume you are from Northern Ireland, No offence if you are from Southern Ireland meaning you aren’t from UK, anyway I hope you have a good day and continue making content because from other people’s perspective (people not from farms) It is Different

Quality & quantity of straw fast becoming an issue the longer this broken weather continues. Anything sprayed off for 2 weeks or more won’t make great bedding.

Don't worry about moaning about the weather, Phil. We understand how critical it is in farming, and the Emerald Isle didn't get its nickname because of its Californian climate. I'm in England, so things are pretty much the same - on a tiny little island there's just not enough land mass to give any kind of stability to the weather. I've not seen any of those farm simulator games, but wouldn't it be grand if you could be sitting in your tractor and press a button in the cab to make the sun come out...
