This is a fantastic video series. My only criticism is that this should have been part 1 and the other should have been part 2. This video explained a lot of context for what you explained in part 1. Thanks for sharing your expertise!

Ok I've read all the hype about wire weeders, I made one from a 2x2 with fencing wire, instead of paying for one, I'm here to tell you I was more than overwhelmed with the results, it pulls out the weeds with no effort all the while standing straight up right, if you don't believe me, make one and post later

So, is it just like a reinvented hoe? We use hoes and they do the same thing. Does it work better? I am curious about it.

You are obviously a very astute and observant and thoughtful person, tell me your thoughts about mulch in this cycle please.
@NeversinkFarm4 жыл бұрын
Compost is a great mulch but anything like wood chips or similar doesn't kill weeds and means you must resort hand weeding once they eventually come up.
@ReefHermit2 жыл бұрын
I’m pretty sure the purpose of intensive weeding is to prevent the weeds from sapping moisture and nutrients from the closest crop plant. If the roots are still alive aren’t they continuing that process regardless of the above ground growth?
@classicrocklover56158 ай бұрын
His view is if you continue to cut off the weed at ground level, soon the roots will not have enough strength and food to continue putting up new shoots.

very clever way of managing weeds! have tried to implement some of the ideas of my farm since last year but happened too much times that weeding was put aside to do something more pressing.. error paid cash! im curious about your way of cleaning the peas netting (at 8:55) , i fought so hard to remove the stems
@NeversinkFarm6 жыл бұрын
they are pulled from the ground so they die and then left on the netting.
@moibalm6 жыл бұрын
ok thanks! @@NeversinkFarm
@lazygardens4 жыл бұрын
If you cut them at the base and let them wilt for a day, they lose their grip on the netting and you can pull them off easily.
