Where did you find 2" cedar planks? I'm not too far away from you to haul a trailer. I built my first beds with doug fir and they are getting a bit wonky.

Hey Connor. Best regards and Congrats on walking away from IT and the Corporate rabbit hole and building such an impressive farm. It looks like an awesome course for Market Farmers. But I'm just an avid backyard gardener on about 2500 sq.ft with a passion for growing nutrient rich food organically. I wonder if you've considered a stripped down version of the course for us regular gardeners??

My farm is located on what was once a shallow sea bed in the Silurian Era. A mile or two inland from the current shore of Lake Michigan. Theres eventually limestone bed rock at the bottom, but in my part of the state of WI there is a thick layer of multiple horizons of soil above that with NO ROCKS. Beleive it or not ive brought most rocks there myself as weights for various tarps and fabrics, ive even needed to buy bricks! No rock piles from past rock picking efforts either! Further west into the county theres a lot more rocks but for some reason im in the sweet spot.

Thanks for sharing! My new favorite is Landis Winter lettuce. I received it as a freebie along with my order from Baker Creek, and decided to give it a try this season. So far it's growth is outperforming the others. I'm currently growing indoors on the windowsills, and out windows are quite chilly, so I'm confident that this new variety would do well outdoors as well.

Thank you for the education. Being organized in need & a plan is the way to save time & stress later in the season.

Your videos are great and really informative. Made me think about growing up we vegatble farmed 5 acres and later in life when i got married my wifes family vegetable farmed a large opsration of watermelon, cantelope, pumpkins, tomatoes, strawberries, potatoes, onion, peppers and i could go on. But im rethinking how i’ve done my own gardens now and the no till preping you space witnhout turning things over is the total opposite of how ive done it. Im going to give it a try this year along with you idea of a small open ended hoop house for tomatoes. Thanks again for sharing.
