The Weekend of Freddo - Happy 7th Birthday!

On Thursday just gone, it was Freddo’s 7th birthday but the girls wanted to celebrate too so we waited for the weekend when they weren’t at school.
We asked the girls how they’d like to best celebrate Freddo’s special birthday. Possibly the first birthday he’s ever celebrated we don’t know.
They decided he would most like hot dogs for lunch, chicken cake for afternoon tea, kite flying and a movie night. They also made him cards and wrote him a song which Elle sings a little of whilst Evie plays the castanets. It’s about how amazing he is, how he has made our life better, he’s our protector and this is his forever home. A lot to say in one song, but it comes from the heart. The girls really love their Freddo.

If dogs could talk, then Freddo could narrate one hell of a tale. You were pretty intimidating in those early days, Freddo, and although you did so well in training nobody wanted to take on a strong-minded, aging Rottie. That rejection was a blessing in disguise because in your heart you'd already found the family that was right for you. They just had to realize that. I adore Freddo. I see him as an amazing boy, so proud, so regal & with an air of a soul that has been on this earth before. His love for the family that has given him this chance to be his true self is a joy to see. I was so excited I had tears rolling down cheering. He just needed a family to see his worth and someone to protect. He found his someone and it a family of little someones too. His protector job, to chase away nightmares and delivery men too. I hope he has many more birthdays holding down the fort and the armchair. I just love him. ♥️♥️

Freddo is still my absolute favourite dog together with Bandit. I am amazed at the progress of Shadow. I remember in the begining Luke said he did not believe Shadow would be able to socialise with other dogs and would be eventually suited to a family with no other dogs. Just look at how naturally Shadow is socialising with the other dogs and just being a normal dog! Kudos to you Luke and your amazing work with shadow. Watching the girls flying their kites was brilliant, your so lucky to have a yard where they can do so without the kites tangled in trees. The song the girls sang to Freddo brought a huge smile to my face, every word showed everyone how much they love all aspects of their time with Freddo. Happy birthday Freddo, you deserve that birthday cake, though those people who handed you into the shelters would never believe that you are the same dog. Happy Birthday darling Freddo. The kite flying, Wolfie hilariously covered in cake, the girls singing and castanet playing. After Freddo has his, the others have "chickenface" alertly albeit patiently waiting for Luke to toss them some tasty bits, then bowls of grilled beef etc, wow!! Shadow has truly arrived in heaven, look at her go! Big and litte puppies everywhere.......boy Freddo is the luckiest, sweetest, guardian-est, most beautiful, and loved furry boy!! Grateful for him and all of you for showing us the way. Aaghhhhh Kaye.....I have ugly tears sobbing, thankfully with no onlookers. How good is this family? How good have all these rescue dogs been?? I was torn between Yoyo and Freddo originally but Yoyo now has his happy home. However, sweet Freddo just keeps shining. so majestic, loyal and protective.
