I am an agent. 33 years now. I have never seen the HO market in its current state. I blame A-holes like this. What he is not telling you is that Florida had more property insurance lawsuits than all other states combined. Just wait until you get your HO renewal bill. The numbers tell the tale. I have clients whose rates have doubled, some tripled this year. All due to attorneys like this who facilitate insurance fraud. Never ever sign an AOB (assignment of benefits contract). If you do you are turning over control of your claim to contractors and attorneys. What could possibly go wrong with that?

Exactly, they abuse the system then everyone gets upset when everything implodes. I do not feel sorry for what has happened. It takes situations like this for people to fix the system. As a carrier, I would avoid Florida until they get their crap together.

I am an agent as well. Licensed in every state except FL, HI and AK. You are correct the lawsuits are a major factor. The point he makes about shrinking profits is true as well however. The companies set these year over year extremely optimistic goals and when they don't meet those, it's freak out time. Texas is going through this same situation.

I knew something was missing just couldn't figure it out. Lawyers, politicians, contractors and insurance companies. What a soup.

Bank robber was asked, "Why do you rob banks?" He replied, "That's where the money is". A lawyer was asked, "why do you sue insurance companies?" He replied, "That's where the money is." Hope this helps.

I bet you didn't know that Defense Attorneys & Insurance Companies control the lawsuit process right? Did you know Defense Attorneys making money DRAGGING cases along? They DO NOT make money by quickly settling the claim...Think about it!!!
@jmilesfox
@jmilesfox 2 жыл бұрын
That is a vast over simplification of the process.

@@theclaimsquadpublicadjusters you're making zero sense. The issue is how much money the companies are paying out for litigation comparable to the other 49 states. This would mean they would be busting out the seams with money. I feel bad for whoever hires you as an adjuster. Most of you public adjusters don't know a damn thing about the industry.

There's right and wrong on both sides but insurance should not be a foolproof business sometimes they have a bad season and have to pee and other times they have a good season and don't have to pay 20 years ago we had for storms major in one season we paid for that in our premiums for the next decade insurance companies have also gotten bailouts so that's right and wrong on both sides

Ya insurance is gambling. Sometimes you are up sometimes you are down. Unfortunately Insurance companies think they should always make money. That’s not how gambling works. 🤬

Finally, a report from a homeowner's perspective seen thru the perspective of an attorney who fights insurance companies bad faith. Having had a legutimate insurance claim (it was not for a roof) that the insurance company immediately denied I know how insurance companies motto has turned into: homeowners pay more, we pay less!! Attorneys do not take frivilous homeowner claims, they simply can't afford to fight for a claim if it can't be proven as legitimate. For those who slam attorneys that protect homeowners, I hope one day you experience for yourself what it is to have a legitimate claim for damages you suffered, you paid high premium for your home insurance and then your insurance company quickly denies your claim and refuses to pay you anything. You will be singing a totally different tune. The insurance companies invest lots of money to convince people like you that they are the nice guys. Doesn't the fact that one of our top FL senators has an interest in an insurance company tell you the cards are stacked in favor of insurance companies!!??!!

crazy thing is, this Attorney (who everyone seems to trust) is factually incorrect. When the CFO of the state is saying that is the issue, that is probably the issue. This is nothing new in Florida, it finally caught up to the consumer. Attorneys need to be held even more accountable. I find allot of what they do, Insurance and roof related is really a breach of public trust. Half the time, the consumer doesn't even know that the "roofer" is really backed by an attorney. It's a sad environment when you have convinced people to call an attorney before you even call your insurance carrier to file a claim. Ignorance runs rampant in this state and the attorneys are taking advantage of it.

A shingle roof should be made to last one persons lifetime. Roofs that last 3-10yrs is the extreme the planned obsolescence engineering team has bitten too much of spiraling all stakeholders into a war of tit vs tat. If THEY(govt/corp) really wanted to be green then make roofs last a lifetime at a cheap cost. But govt/corp needs the war to hide the stories of the dead bodies.
