Love FIST! Just a suggestion: higher video resolution. The video tops out at 360p. For a flip-through would be nice to see crisper text. But otherwise, great discussion!

I must be getting old. I don't recognize any of the anime titles at all, and have heard of Metal Gear and Airwolf but know nothing about them. The only one I really recognize is the A-Team and my memories of watching that as a kid are hazy. The talk about Doom Patrol in the video was also completely lost on me. No clue what that is. What I think of when I think about the game are things like True Lies, Bionic Man, Commando, GI Joe, Rambo, and Predator.

@@patrickbarnes9874Both Airwolf and A-Team are a cheesy live action TV series from the 80's. Airwolf has was an excellent arcade game in the 80's or 90's. I used to watch all this stuff as a kid, I was exactly the target age for it. Pretty much the same era as Rambo, GI Joe, etc. Metal Gear is a cool video game series and the closest thing I can think of to FIST. The one for the original PlayStation has a good story and a pretty straight forward plot, later ones have convoluted plots. The original Nintendo (and MSX) version of Metal Gear had a lot of dialog that implied a story, which is enough. The NES version was released around the same time as Bionic Commando, very different gameplay but kind of similar themes to the setting. My wife and I streamed Doom Patrol recently. It was OK. I can see how it would appeal to people but I can't really recommend it. Another one I think fits is the 80's version of Robocop. Especially the weird stuff in Robocop 2 movie. Evil military robots with human brains in them? yes please.

I disagree that the intro text is great and well written. It's trying for the "when your back is against the wall and nobody else can do the job, who are you going to call?" type vibe, but it fails. "You may be facing unknown operators" just isn't very hard hitting. It doesn't produce the image of a desperate emergency with life and death consequences that they are going for. My reaction is not to call in a band of fearless mercenaries, it's to call in some high IQ researchers to analyze the data. When I first looked at the game, my enthusiasm for it was decreased rather than increased by that intro. It's also bizarre as an intro to a "paranormal" game as it doesn't have even a hint of the supernatural, which it should emphasize if they're going to put the word "paranormal" in the game's subtitle.
