David Maloney is the type of interviewer I like. He is well informed, asks pertinent questions and nudges when necessary,... but most importantly he gives the interviewee the majority of the air time. Great interview David & Kyle. Bravo!

Hearing that means a great deal to the both of us. THANK YOU!

I always struggled to understand "A Venture" as a child, now it's one of my favorite Yes songs for the same reason.

I love the way he doesn't excessively bend strings. Its pure melody inspiration all the way . No cliches here. No excessive boxy pentatonic or anything. Melody.

Steve Howe is a legendary guitarist/instrumentalist, and an inspiration to many musicians thru the years! Thanks for this!

Love me some Steve Howe. He is sharp as a tack here. Could be in his forties. Hope his thumb heals up soon so they can resume the tour. Most fun I have had all year being in front of the Maestro watching him work, and entertain.

Cool what Steve said about how well "Drama" has aged. I often say that of all Yes albums, "Drama" has taken the biggest swing on the "got better with age" pendulum.

Here he's, a thousand millionth part of the human race (as he says) but, it's possible to be bigger. I thing this man should be eternal.

Been watching YES 1978 in the round and 1980 on KZbin. Steve Howe will ALWAYS be one of my guitar HEROES ! "Awaken" brought me to Jesus Christ. 45 years of YES in my headphones.
@uv77mc858 ай бұрын
How did awaken bring you to jesus? its new age weirdness not christian
@mlw20058 ай бұрын
@@uv77mc85"Awaken" lyrics were heavily inspired by Christian author Calvin Miller's 'The Singer', which was a Christ allegory. The lyrics are abstract enough to be applied personally by anyone, but they are loaded with Christian themes - revelation, restoration, forgiveness, etc.

You are so lucky getting to pick his brain for so long. I would love that chance. And as he says, Drama was a great album. The last of the proper great yes albums.

In interview he always seems to underplay Jon's contribution to the band.
@ronskopitz23607 ай бұрын
When I read his book, it really made me dislike Steve Howe. But hearing him speak his answers here has redeemed him in my eyes quite a bit. And sharp as a rack - wow! Still, it’s a shame what he’s done to Jon. I’m sure there’s plenty I don’t know about that story, but it sure seems like Steve abandoned him while he was down.

ARW was a great version of the band. I saw them in 2019, and they played lots of classic songs perfectly well.

Amazing guitarist, will always be a musical hero and I love to hear about the band, the development etc. What I don't want from any musician whether I agree or not is to be preached to. When it got to the environment and war I shut if off. Don't alienate the people who support you, stick to the music.

The fantastic 'Yes' we all know and love is long gone . The current 'Yes' , to me , is more of a tribute band than anything . The original group will remain forever in our hearts .

Pro Tip: Before interviewing a world-famous musician, do some research. Learn the actual titles of well-known songs. Or maybe just hone your editing skills.
