I agree! They weren't in control of their dog, and knew it had an issue with that kind of aggressive behaviour- they should totally pay the full bill and be glad it wasn't a child that was hurt!

@@loullabelleuk to put your mind at rest chick, a dog that is aggressive toward other dogs, doesn’t mean it's any more or less likely to be aggressive toward people, i know that sounds mad, but the psychology of the behaviours are totally different. Having said that, it's not really responsible dog ownership to allow a dog to attack another dog ... poor Buddy :( :( ... I have a rescued staffy, I always muzzle her when out, just in case, i would also never leave her alone with my grandkids, just in case- then again i wouldn't leave my springer unsupervised either, but I think certain breeds of dogs such as Akitas, Staffies, Mastiffs etc need an extra level of care taken, training, and the owner needs to be 100% in control at all times. If they can't control the dog, then they shouldn't have it . xx

@@rosiered2357 I totally agree with you. I know dogs that do not like other dogs mainly because they wasn’t socialised when a puppy was never taken out. Had bad owners. However absolutely love children and people.

Our next doors jack Russell attacked our cat. They where lovely about it , I showed them the bill and they paid it straight away. They still live next door and couldn't wish for nicer neighbours

Having worked in animal rescue for a long time, I have to say that dog should never have been rehomed until it had received sufficient training, as another lady said one day there might be a child in the way, good on you for going to talk to them, personally I think they should pay all of the vet bill and the rescue centre should be informed.

Oh dear lord scissors! Disappearing scissors have been an issue in my life since I was a kid. My mom was forever buying new ones as she couldn't find a pair when she wanted them. She passed away 4 years ago now, I got all her belongs. After sorting through everything and getting ready to move now, I am now the proud of eleventy million pairs of scissors, all colors, shapes and ages. I even have multiple pairs of pinking sheers! There must be at least 30 pair! if not more lol

It physically hurts to think about Buddy getting attacked, I can't imagine mine or any dog getting attacked once let alone three times!! That is BS about only paying for half the bill, if you have dogs, then you take the responsibility for them, especially if they are dogs that have behavioral issues. Our little dog is a 10 lb old little chihuahua lady that HATES other dogs, when walking her when we see another dog, she gets picked up right away before she even has a chance of getting close and possibly biting or starting something, it is just what you do to keep all animals safe. That is my rant, but it is something that pisses me off. I hope Buddy is healed quickly.

I’m so sorry to hear about Buddy. Such an awful experience for you all and Buddy. My daughter is a vet nurse/practice manager now and tells me this happens so often. I’ve been with her and her 3 dogs and been approached by other dogs. Usually with owners following shouting he won’t hurt he’s harmless. One of her dogs is nervous so she keeps him on a lead but it worries the life out of him when loose dogs come up to him. When she asks for them to call their dogs they usually say he won’t take any notice of me. Don’t let your dogs off if you don’t have any recall!I or don’t have the strength to control and hold them. Rant over. I hope Buddy is getting better.

I cried when I heard about Buddy poor boy for Sunday lunch because it was so so hot I did homemade coleslaw and bacon rolls they were gorgeous and I always cook for an elderly neighbour thinking perhaps he wouldn't enjoy the food and his reply was do more food like that in this weather don't want bloody cooked dinners that's telling me

Poor Buddy... Really hope he's recovering well. It sounded like a real ordeal and really hope the owners sort a muzzle out. Like others have said, next time it could be a child. I was bitten badly by a dog when I was a child so I know how horrific it can be. I agree that it should definitely be reported if nothing is done. Your a lovely person. I’m with you you can’t blame the dog. Like the saying ‘ There is not such a thing as I bad dog, just bad owners’ that lady should totally muzzle the dog if not for other dogs safety but also for her dogs safety as they may come across another dog who doesn’t take kindly to being attacked and bite back. poor buddy, glad he is on the mend, same thing happened to my daughters dog Loki a few moths ago , a pit bull type just grabbed him round the middle (hes only a litte dog) and wouldnt let go, her boyfriend had his hands in its mouth trying to prise its jaws open, eventually got him out and to vets , he was x rayd to see if it has crushed his ribs, but was lucky and they were fine , they couldnt stitch his wounds incase of infection and they thought some skin might drop off. thankfully he's healed and well now but daughter is £600 out of pocket, the other dogs owner disappeared .x

i agree with the comment about the possibility of that dog attacking a child or doing worse to another dog than she did to poor old Buddy. I meet so many dog owners who claim that their dog is friendly or won't do any harm. I have a rescue collie cross dog and she is unpredictable, had a bad start in life and can attack another dog for absolutely no apparent reason. As a result she is never off lead- we have a long lead so she can go off a bit if where she wants but she is old so not bothered about running. I ALWAYS warn other dog walkers who approach what she is like and keep a firm hold of her harness when other dogs pass. If we are going somewhere where there are a lot of dogs off lead I put a muzzle on her - I just dont get why other people who have dogs that they know are like this cant be bothered or refuse to muzzle their dog. I think you let them off lightly Carla and they should have paid the full vets bill. On another matter - why are vets allowed to rip us all off?? we as pet lovers are a captive market and they can charge what the hell they want and lets face it - they do. I am not well off and have 2 dogs and if they need the vet then I take them and I ask for the prescription details and then get what I need off the internet - for example the pain killer for dogs Metacam was going to cost me £40 from the vet - got it from Amaxon for £7.99. Similarly eye drops £30 - googled what they actually are- turns out its Optrex £5.99 from the chemist. Unless your dog needs stitching up like Buddy ask the vet what you can get yourself- mine was happy to tell me about the Metacam and the Optrex.

Aww poor buddy.. Get well soon little man🐾🐾our collie was attack by a staffie dog it was touch and go whether he would survive. The dog got him by the throat and deskinned his chest. Never blame the breed the owners are at fault some can't handle them xx

i'm a Staffy owner, one of the breed characteristics is that they can be highly aggressive towards other dogs, especially if they aren't socialised as a pup. I would never take my staff out without a muzzle and she is used to and lives with other dogs.. its too late to be sorry once another dog has been hurt so i don't take any chances. I hope your collie is ok, it made me so sad to read your comment

Oh my, it's SO hard when our 4-legged kids are in pain! If they could just talk and tell us where they hurt! When I had my precious Virgil (the cocker), he got an injury and I was devastated until he healed. God bless them all. Hang in there - you are a good Mom to all your kids! Hopefully, you won't have a worry week in the future....

I agree with everyone else who`s commented on Buddy`s attack and subsequent vet bills.I know you don`t want friction ,but the least the owners could do is offer to pay for his expenses now.Here`s hoping Buddy recovers quickly ,and those dogs are kept away. Love the hair trim device.My middle daughter`s a hairdresser ,but has been so poorly with covid ,we`re all desperately in need of a good cut now.Would love to know if the Tens pen works.When i`ve been at the pain clinic ,they used another tens device ,but i found it gave me more pain than it took away ,so ,fingers crossed you`ll be pleased with the pen and could recommend for those of us with chronic pain too! Hi Carla, 3rd row , 2nd from the left. I do hope the owners of the dogs comply and also work with a dog behaviorist, shame for the dogs really. Thankfully Buddy is on the mend. If your vet sells shares I think I should invest lol. I did have tens treatment at the hospital for my torn tendons in my upper arms, but I think I have arthritis in my shoulder as I am still feeling pain in that area and there is crunching noises when I move it. I hope it works for you , nothing worse than being in pain xx

I used a Tens when I was waiting for my hip replacement. I wore it to work. Not like yours though. Mine had 2 sticky pads to hold the whatsits in place. Was fantastic, I never missed a day.

Hi carla so very sorry about buddy, my cousins dog got attacked a couple of weeks ago and half took his face off and other Injuries and 30grand later and still can't track the offending dog and owner down. Give buddy a cwtch and I would report the dog and owner. Take care

Best wishes for a speedy recovery for Buddy. On Saturday I saw the same sort of air display over the forest of dean,, never seen anything like it before....it was a big display from a man to his partner on thier wedding anniversary. Not sure how it's all done but was amazing.
