You should definitely check out the live and acoustic versions of Dancing in the Flames. Those versions I feel like has more heart and is more raw than the officially released version.

One of the best pop songs he’s ever made. His vocals are incredible, the production is immaculate, and the lyrics are catchy. And diving deeper knowing the context, the lyrics are great. How he’s talking about a woman and god. And keeping it perfectly ambiguous between the two.

The Weeknd, especially recently, needs to be experienced as a whole album. After Hours, Dawn FM, and soon, Hurry Up Tomorrow are made to be played from cover to cover. But I understand if that’s not plausible for a reaction channel

I rarely comment on youtube videos but ive spent the last 3.5 hours watching your videos. Its 3 am and i have work in the morning but I just cant stop watching. Ive seen your channel for a few years and caught a video or two here and there and always loved your relationshop and depth at which you guys dissect things. When it comes to the weekend, I actually started listening to him heavily a few years ago and what i appreciate most about him is not only his exceptional vocal talent but the extremely high level production and mixing. Both are things i know you guys appreciate. I would suggest listening to to die for you, hardest to love, Out of time, or scared to live as far as singles. But if you can, i strongly suggest listening to After hours as a complete project nonstop, specifically because of the way the tracks are mixed together it sounds heavenly. Specifically hardest to love> scared to live>snowchild. Another thing to note is that the weekend releases albums in trillogies that together tell a cohesive story and this coming album will be the final installment on his most recent trilogy containing After hours/ dawn FM and hurry up tomorrow. Also, the live version of this song is arguably bettee than the sudio production. This was way longer than i interned but keep up the great videos 😂🙌🏾👌🏽 9:36 9:36

It’s tricky to understand/appreciate The Weeknd off of one or even a handful of songs because his projects (especially his trilogies) do a lot of storytelling and world-building. They excel within the context of the whole project. At the very least, it would help to listen to the AH and DFM albums in their entirety (first two in the ongoing trilogy). Although I cannot recommend his original Trilogy mixtapes from the early 2010s enough.

Blinding lights became a mega hit by accident I think, this one is very catchy and maybe better than BL but I don’t think it’ll beat BL. I like the synths and 80s sound even outside of his music so this continued sound doesn’t bother me but I do hope the album has some different sounds on it.

It's ironic to accuse Dua Lipa of sonic overuse when The Weeknd seems to follow a more repetitive formula. Although Dua Lipa has evolved in terms of visual style and some musical arrangements, The Weeknd seems to be reproducing the same recipe since the album 'After Hours'

I’m curious at what point Apple got involved. Bc there’s no way Apple is making a typical Weeknd music video and playing it at the iPhone launch. Weeknd songs/videos are typically some level of provocative and even subversive. This one is 100% Apple-friendly and inoffensive. And to be clear, provocation is NOT necessary for a great song/video. But this feels like a relatively “safe” “radio hit” kinda song by Abel’s standards. Which is fine. I enjoyed it. But I think he’s at his best when he’s pushing the boundaries, lyrically and musically. Hopefully, the album will still do that - the leaks for other songs confirm that it definitely won’t just be 80s dance pop. I felt the same way about Blinding Lights, but then the album dropped, and within the context of the album - especially after Faith - the meaning of the song is transformed.
@angie-jo1mn4 ай бұрын
You said it. The video was shot on iPhone 16, and the song was purposely made to be radio. Pop friendly, and my opinion is Abel did this collab intentionally. Apple Music has been paying this man millions of dollars on his trending music for years the least Abel could do for them is to promote their new Iphone 16 and have his newest music video shot with the new phone😅
