Check out High For This off House of Balloons 🖤 There is no way to explain everything that was going on with this album without you checking the whole thing out lol This video is basically him expressing his fears about fame twisting him into just another plastic object for them to siphon off of until there’s nothing left but this deformed and unrecognizable man singing for a faceless and apathetic crowd. The only time they show any response is when he puts the gun to his head and sacrifices himself to them. MJ is a huge inspiration to The Weeknd, and I think what fame did to MJ was an inspiration for this video. Also, when he throws the big trophy, that’s a direct fuck you to the Grammys because they basically blackballed him because he chose to play the Super Bowl instead of the Grammys. Because of course he did lol that’s a no brainer. This whole album is pretty much about his bad breakup with Bella Hadid. My advice to anyone wanting to actually dive into The Weeknd is to just start at the beginning. His whole discography is like a series of books. You can definitely enjoy them on their own but you get much more of a perspective and appreciation if you read them all in order. And that was super pretentious, I know lol but you really do get to experience the evolution of his sound and the stories he’s telling if you start at the beginning. That being said, it’s all good so I’ll be happy with whatever you do from him lol 🖤

It's a really great story line being told through the music videos and some other videos, and it all tied together to eventually become one of the horror houses this past year at Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios
