My favourite thing about the weeping angels is how the only way to beat them is to outsmart them, as a lot of the times we see them beaten it's because they were tricked or trapped. Definitely one of the most unique creatures in the show, and the more we learn about them the scarier they get. I wonder if we can see a compilation of the many ways the doctor and their friends have beaten them? I remember during the siege of trenzalore episodes it's implied that the doctor used a mirror to trap a weeping angel by making it perceive itself?

Okay, woah woah woah, wait wait wait wait wait. I just watched the episode where the Doctor meets the Devil - an ancient beast from before the beginning of the universe or after or during, doesn't matter - that's the quote. Defeated and imprisoned by an unknown force. And the Angels, nobody knows where they're from - but they're angels. No matter what statues they inhabit or become or whatever - they're always angels. Always angels. So, here's my standing theory: Whatever imprisoned the Devil either utilised, impacted, or became the Weeping Angels. That's why they have such a unique relationship with time, being able to "eat" it, and that's why they're angels.
