For anyone wondering, Pau Gasol played one final season in FC Barcelona before retiring and even at the young age of 41 he was one of the best centers in the Spanish league and a key player during the playoffs and finals (which Barcelona won); Marc is currently playing for Spanish second-tier league team Girona (a club he just so happens to be the founder and president of), in the city from which he took off towards the NBA, with the goal of helping the team reach first division.

The Gasol's were insane. Pau is a player of his own, but Marc was low-key Jokic before Jokic. That whole Grizzlies roster from 2012-2015 is slept on, especially in 2015, the Grizzlies were dominating at the same pace as the Warriors for the first 25-30 games. They're a legend team in 2k for a reason. Edit: I’m not saying that Marc was exactly like Jokic. I said “lowkey” for a reason 😂. Both are very gifted basketball players

That's a myth.. there were more enforcers back then so the refs let them play a little but Superstars still got soft calls and they still complained when they didn't.

It was a much more physical game but there were still touch calls. Sports betting helped there too. That said, the players today are way better than the average players then. They condition and train in the off-season much more. Most of the 70s and 80s was full of cocaine.

Fun Fact: Tom Van Arsdale holds the records for most games played (929) and most points scored (14,232) in a career without a playoff appearance. I'm running an NBA re-simulation as a way for me to (1) nerd out about stats and (2) learn more about NBA history.
