It's insane to think these organisms have no idea that we exist, when there could be beings that view us the same way we view these amoebas.

Hi Justin Y 👋

This is a super interesting amoeba in real-time. It moves SO fast, I cannot get my head around it! What a stunning, complex single-celled organism, isn't it?! . I believe it is a Leptophrys, I found Leptophrys often but never seen this species before, it was much faster than the others I found. Can you see the extensions of its body that it sends out in every direction? Those are called filopodia, and it moves and hunts by using them. I cannot understand how it controls each of the filopodia, it blows my mind. . Thank you so much for reading. And please check @Journey to the Microcosmos for narrated videos! . Best, James Weiss

Great work James, thanks for sharing your passion and insights on microscopy! Now time to go the the local ponds for some water samples 😎👍

I used to have this crazy thought that each univers bubble thing was a cell, and its all part of a organism and it was just like that for infinity.
@murrayshekelberg97543 жыл бұрын
I often wonder about 4d space time with the 3 spacial dimensions and 1 dimension of time and wonder if there is also a dimension of scale that is not well understood. We see that the physics that work well on the micro scale like quantum mechanics don't seem to play well with the physics of the that work well with the macro world like Relativity and on the largest scales we deal with things that can't be explained well with either such as dark energy. I wonder if the 'parallel universes' or at least some other level of reality changes as you move through scale. Maybe some things repeat like in fractals but physics continues to change. If you went to a larger scale maybe the forces change or maybe, as you said, our universe is just one of many bubbles and some may be very similar while others had different densities, energy, or basic makeup that gave them their own physics. There is no proof of any of it but it is an interesting thought and there isn't any real way to prove or disprove it. The Copernican Principal says that we are not in a a special place in the universe and that there are no special places. Maybe that is an infinite rule. Just like the Earth isn't all there is with everything orbiting it and the Milky Way isn't the whole universe, maybe our universe isn't the all there is, and the universes around it are all part of a bigger whole that isn't even a speck compared to the next level of structure. Oh well. Just something I think about sometimes when it's quiet.
