What was really interesting, and fairly uncommon on a boat that size, is a single helm wheel actually isn't a total pita in that Cockpit. Not sure how easy getting on or off the Tender would be for me, but that layout below is rather intriguing and is pretty well thought out. I like it, apart from a clear lack of handholds to and from the companionway, and that galley is way too linear. tbh, I think I'd swap a decent galley where the aft Starboard cabin is and have the galley there, plus remove the existing galley, and rep.ace it with a Bunk room. Linear galleys really suck when trying to cook or make drinks and snacks when in a seaway, and really need to be close to the companionway for passing to the Cockpit imho. Bob. 🤔

That Gozzard 36 is in a great shape to be a 1986. Very spacious and the design by Ted Gozzard makes it look even bigger. I have a 29 Bayfield also designed by him and even though is a 29, it feels like a 32 inside. The design of these boats is unique. Very stable boats. Great for sailing, very forgiving boats .

Love these style of boats with the clipper style bow and the slightly razed aft deck/teak rail around the stern, just a laid back old time feeling.

Very pretty retro style monohull Very practical for a solo or couple .. + a child or occasional visitors... Transformational interior makes this an intriguing proposition and even as a small live aboard. Very easy on the eye. 👍🏼😎⛵🇬🇧

Looks like a great older boat. A huge interior capacity for a 36ft boat, and it's even more impressive when you take into account the fact that even though we call it a 36ft boat, with the fairly long bowsprit, although it allows for more sail area, actually means the usable size of the boat is quite a bit smaller than 36'.
@sirbonesdragonquest8368
@sirbonesdragonquest8368 Жыл бұрын
The 36' designates Length On Deck and excludes the length of the bowsprit. This is a 42' long boat. But wait, even the 42' doesn't count the dingy davits, nor the fact that, with your dingy hanging there, the true length goes beyond the davits to almost 47'. When you're maneuvering through a mooring field or any tight place you are sailing a 47' boat with all that implies regarding turning moment and arc. Whenever you rent a slip or pay for storage, you will be paying for the true length of this masterpiece. My only unmet desire while living on my G36 was not having a washing machine.

I have a friend who owns one of these which has the rare hard top cockpit (only 2 made that year I believe) and is a full time live aboard. It is an awesome vessel and one of the best layouts for its size and type I have seen. I have not sailed with him but stayed aboard his boat at the dock a few nights. Great accommodations for multiple guests with surprising privacy, awesome head and galley arrangement and roomy cockpit. The rear cockpit entrance is very convenient at anchor.

Between the two, the Bayfield has a much more useable interior. constantly converting the forward seating area into a berth for use gets old really really quick. Not having a real master cabin on a 36 is really a disadvantage! But both the Bayfield and the Gozzards are beautiful boats!

Wow, talk about a turn key ready to go cruiser that's well laid out and set up. Looks to be in amazing condition with a lot of new or newer systems and parts including a recently replaced engine, tanks and rigging as well as having her sails refreshed. I'd imagine this won't sit on the market long at her asking price with it's only drawback I can see, (Baring a Survey), is it being located in Canada and the weirdness in travel that comes with that right now...

I cannot say for certain but some in some vessels with a folding cockpit table like this one, the hatch-cover slides out of the coach-head and slides into the middle section of the table to complete the tabletop. It would be very rare to require the table to be set and the hatch to be closed at the same time.

I get the idea of using winches from the middle of the cockpit. Easy to reach and no real need for more than one. But sails create one hell of a load. Would not want to be on the receiving end of that sheet if the block gives way. But then again, I hate a traveler in the middle of the cockpit as well. Always in the way and same problem. The cushions in the cabin are nice looking in white, but good luck keeping them clean. Even if they were vinyl. And lastly I'm not sure I could get behind the navigation station. The table lifts down and I would have to crawl into the quarter berth to raise it. LOL Otherwise nice looking boat. The fake grass is a nice touch and the cockpit looks home made with the wood accents, but the interior really looks sharp and the wood in non-intrusive. As others mentioned, lots of money considering it has no modern upgrades.

The pluses: nice joinery, bulwarks, clean deck. And they have at least tried to do something different with the interior layout, (interesting). Also like the newer 45hp diesel. I liked the tankage in the bilge and it looked like good quality. In fact the boat looked well built in general. The Minuses: For a sea boat, cockpit too large, (fine for day sailing). AND, the specs are wrong! It is not 36 LOA, it is 42” LOA. 36’ on deck. So you are paying for a 42’ slip and having to maneuver a 42 boat around the marina, with the danger of that big sprit wacking and punching other boats. Also you only have the space of a 36’ boat not 42. Additionally, clipper bows do not work on smaller boats like this and just add to the hobby horsing that that giant sprit and extended rig is causing. All this a big deal breaker for me. Now someone that doesn’t understand all this will look at the inferred and false saltyness of the boat and fall in love. Good for them.

That is a very nice example of a G-36 but it is overpriced by a LOT. That is a $50-55,000 vessel. The front V Cabin had an option for a 2nd head where the wet locker is on Port hull wall and the Sink area across on Starboard side and the door had a double swing setup to make the head private while sitting on it. I've never seen one setup and functional ,, but i saw it plumbed in. But again ,,, Very Cherry nice boat to live aboard as a solo or young skinny couple,,, lol
