I honestly love Dog Man. I have all the books, collected since 2016, and it's pretty.. OK. I'm gonna ramble about this book. So skip this comment, probably. 💀 There's a lot of romance for some reason? Chief (the boss of Dog Man) met up with the character Nurse Lady in a book once, they got in a relationship, and then.. got married? Like, really soon after getting together, weirdly They also use the character Lil Petey a lot, which is FINE, but it's not really Dog Man, is it? It's more.. Lil Petey. Lil Peteys daily life with his past abusive father guy. The series is made by George and Harold, in the series lore, at least, and most books are based off books they read themselves for class. Which would explain why it's stupid. Because it's kids writing it in the stories. Which is why I like it. But sometimes it can get tiring, as they made a spinoff series apparently to Lil Petey, called Cat Kid Comic Club. I have the books, don't read them. But it's creative. They also have this flying tadpole girl named Molly, who is best friends with Lil Petey, and she's about the same. In a very serious interview, where they were talking to Petey about his past life with his late mother and prison, they kept on insisting to sing the news crew songs about diarrhea. Also, Molly calls Petey 'Wally'. The whole series is Lil Petey and Molly. That's what it should be called. For some reason, because this one guy wouldn't let dogs in his restaurant (including Dog Man) because they caused damage to his property as a food place, Chief and Nurse Lady beat him up. And made the sign NO DOGS go to NOW DOGS ALLOWED with a marker, to which they started to feast on him and eat his flesh. There's a robot named 80-HD, and he is pretty rad. The true sigma male. The only reason he doesn't talk is because he's too busy mewing. There's also Sarah Hatoff, and she's pretty cool, too. She has a dog named Zuzu, who Dog Man once wanted to mount, so there you go. I'm done.

Fun fact about Dog Man: Dav Pilkey, creator of Captain Underpants and creator of Dog Man, is still pumping out books to this day. I’m pretty sure he’s made 20 now. The worst part is, is that the villian of the first book, Petey, gets a clone son that makes the book emotional for some reason. And then we find out petey’s mum died and his dad abandoned him? Funniest part is that it wasn’t really emotional, it was just so random, especially in a book about a dog, man. I wanna see dogman be a dog, not a cat have an emotional crisis… ☹️

I stopped reading it after fourth grade when I finished Mothering Heights, I enjoyed all the books up until then but I lost interest in the series when the 11th book wasn’t out for a little while. It’s kinda weird seeing others who disliked the whole Petey/Lil’ Petey story arc, considering I remember being super invested in Petey’s childhood and backstory hahah. Nonetheless, I can see where they’re coming from since looking back, it was a gradual shift from Dog Man being the center of attention, fighting bad dudes and solving crimes, to focusing more on Petey and Lil Petey doing good, with Dog Man becoming more of a side character later on.

Fun fact: I'm sure most fans know this but for the ones that don't know, dav pilkey the creator of dog man and captain underpants was diagnosed with ADHD and dyslexia when he was a kid. So his teachers were mean to him on school. He would make his own comics! (Including dog man and captain underpants) and his teacher always ripped them up, and said "you can't spend the rest of your life making silly books!" Fortunately dav wasn't a very good listener. Whenever he went home his mom told him, "maybe you can make this into something good" and he wondered how, when he grew up he wrote a book called "the adventures of captain underpants" and he put as much of his childhood into it. The principal of the school is mean, 2 kids that were best friends made comics and did pranks, and he owes a lot of it to his mom.

How did you read dogman in your childhood? The first book came out back in 2016. That would mean youre 7 years old rn. (Used the age calculator)
@GrunGrunLeCat6 ай бұрын
Childhoods don’t work like that. A childhood is the span between usually ages 1-13. Basically when your still a kid and not a teenager yet.

It doesn’t mean they were born in 2016, it coulda been released when someone was 13. Then they’d be around 21 years old. (Excuse me if my math is wrong, it’s late.)

Green-Eggs-&-Ham Pt2 hits different: the jury has to deliberate while the defense rhymes like Johnny Effin Cockrin(g), and convinces everyone in the jury to die of salmonella/botulism/trichinosis, sampling his convincing reenactment of the fatal last moments.

Pretty sure Green Eggs and Ham was an exploration of why it’s worth it to try new things, even if you may be skeptical or scared to take chances. I can definitely see it coming across differently, though! 😂

The Dog Man series is pretty good. However, I did notice it starting to focus too much on pushing a moral. However, the latest book, "20,000 Fleas Under The Sea", just feels so unsubtle it is just bashing you over the head with its moral to where the comedic superhero action takes a back seat. The rest of them are at least decent, but that last one, although it had a few decent jokes, just isn't good. Here's hoping the next one is better. I also find it funny that everyone in the comment section unanimously decided to share their Dog Man thoughts even though this video is only partially about Dog Man.
