I suck at fighting games hard, but qualified for Magic the Gathering nationals when I was 16, and my final opponent threw his deck got up yelling in my face screaming how bad I suck and he's gonna kick my ass in the parking lot. (he was prolly mid 30's to early 40's) Pretty much can happen in anything that is a competition.

This reminds me of the Madden scene in my hometown in the early-mid 2000s. People took losses pretty hard because it was all about respect and reputation. Most of the money matches were under 25 dollars. People slamming controllers and everything else you can think out. One time dude loss, stormed out the house, speed off in his car and ran it into a ditch. I wish the scene was more like the current FGC because you had to go play Madden and other players' neighbor. There were times you had to throw a game so you don't get jumped on your way to the car.

Sad thing is the best part of that K-Brad v. Wolfkrone bit wasn't included: Yipes and Tasty Steve's live commentary, which explained why it happened, why the crowd was with K-Brad, and did a full replay of the incident for maximum appreciation of K-Brad dealing with Krone's Twitter smack talk the best way possible and pointing out FGC vets like LI Joe, FChamp, PR Balrog, and Moons (rare footage of his eyes per Twitch chat). Based Monster has the whole incident up (besides many, many others).

I go to the locals in my area pretty regularly there is only one guy that has temper tantrums when they lose other than that everyone is really nice so tourneys are a lot of fun in my experience
