Hey Justin, I'm a brown person (Native American) and I agree with you, I think the deck is tastefully done and it's a pretty good representation of what we see out in the world. I Love that an effort is being made to reflect the world we live in and to broaden the representation to be more inclusive. Thanks for this review! I've added the Weiser Tarot to my list :)

Justin, thanks for your review. I've had the Weiser Tarot for several years and hadn't noticed the various color changes to the characters. I loved the beautiful backgrounds, the modeled sky and the addition of purple. My US Games RWS has various skin tones, but mostly reddish brown like the page of swords and the king of pentacles. Thanks for pointing this out to me.

Thats cool! the Weiser Tarot deck is the one (only one I bought (but wone one at a raffle)) I have and I didn't know that it was a revamp. I do like the changes and the new style of the shading in the landscape (more ink-like). I have not used it yet (or any deck before). You said that there were different systems for the deck? do you have a video comparing and explaining that?

Thanks for this - it made me take another look at the Weiser. 🙂

Good morning, Justin. I'm biracial. Mom was European and dad was African American. I love this deck. Is it perfect? Nope. But the RWS isn't really perfect, whatever colors it has. I got the deck after I saw it reviewed by Ikale Sunflower. Furthermore, there were people of African descent in England during the Tudor reign. There were Africans in Spain and in Italy. I appreciate the effort that the creators at Weiser made. Thanks for sharing your opinion.

Me too (bi-racial - Mom European & African and Dad is the same); I’m intrigued by this deck, and it seems they designed it thoughtfully.

Hello Justin 👋🏼 very good , very wise review of this deck. I love 💕 Marseille decks and classical tarots but also the RWS , this Weiser deck is a good and subtle effort to make the RWS more inclusive which I appreciate. In Tarot people have to be open mind, and I mean with this that you have to respect it’s many variations even though it is not your style. I bought this deck and waiting for it, since I use elemental dignities in my readings I like the background colors in the minors. Thanks for this clever and respectful review my friend 🤗🙏🪬🌹

Thank you for your thoughtful review, Justin. With regard to your story about your little niece, there's a video (maybe Instagram) compilation of little girls of color when they first find out about Disney's remake of "The Little Mermaid" with a black mermaid. It's so poignant. Children who don't see themselves represented in popular culture come away with the feeling that they don't matter, that they are invisible. Sadly, apparently there's been a huge (racist) backlash to the movie, which is just sad. Thank you for sharing.

I have 2 pre teen brown neices, they are white and Puerto rican. When they saw the trailer for the Little Mermaid, they both screamed and cried happy tears. I took them to see it and they were just enamored. We saw it twice actually! To his point of self recognition, when the oldest was 4 or 5, playing with dolls, she asked why doesn't any doll have curly hair like hers? Around that same time they asked why my eyes were blue and theirs were brown. Kids are more aware than we realize, innocently of course. And its disgusting racist people making such a huge deal about the change. Mermaids are mythical creatures, never real and its a fairytale! Fiction! Never was their a waste of more energy then arguing about fictional characters 😮😂❤

Came for the Weiser review as I was thinking of buying it for a friend's birthday and I think she'd love the updated colours. Now I'm torn between that and the Reflective tarot! I'm much more of a TDM fan myself but like both of those.

Despite the coloring of this deck, which I'll admit at first glance made me hate them, but upon closer review I was shocked to find that the creator of this deck is a brilliant adept, having associated the cards correctly to not only the Major Arcana's Astrological correspondences (with only ONE Error* See below) but it is brilliantly correlated to the letters of the Hebrew Alphabet as well. Not many enthusiasts are aware of this one-to-one correlation or its intrinsic value. I commend the creator for that reason alone, having made a statement against the original numbering system employed by the Rider-Waite Tarot deck. I have been aware of the misnumbering of the deck for some years now and have had to re-number my own deck so as to not to become confused. But the creator of this deck, bravely asserted both numbering systems! Aleph, the first letter in the Hebrew Alphabet doubles also as the number One because letters and numbers in Hebrew are the same. Aleph is a SILENT letter, Which I suspect, led Waite to number the Fool as Zero, either that or it was numbered wrong on purpose in order to keep it esoteric. But, as any adept will tell you, this is an error, and there are several ways of demonstrating this to be true. Not to mention that the Ancients didn't use the Zero and new evidence proves that the deck is older than the Bible, (albeit not in card form) dating all the way back to the third millennium BC. But most convincing to me is the palindromic inconsistency when pairing the Tarot keys, they just don't work out right unless you re-number the deck to reflect the proper numbering. For example: Justice is Key 12 NOT 11 the proof is when you match Justice with its Palindromic pair Key 21 Judgment which is arguably the higher octave of Justice. This is the case for every Key: Death's (key 14 NOT 13) palindrome is Key 41 The 6 of Swords (NOT 31) which would make no sense, but Death Matched with the 6 of Swords (Key 41) Does make sense - as Death describes the Journey to the Underworld and the 6 of Swords is an illustration of Charon ferrying the souls of the dead across the river Styx! Every Key is Uncannily matched to its corresponding palindrome - THIS is proof enough that that it MUST be the NATURAL order of the cards! Still though, further proof is found in the numbers assigned to the celestials the Moon and the Sun. The moon has been associated with the numbers 3 and 30 and the triple Goddess, since time immemorial, likewise the Sun has been associated with the number 20 (look up the Sun and Moon Gods of Mesopotamia) yet the current numbering system, lists the High Priestess (a Card obviously associated to the Moon as Key (2) and the 8 of cups (The Moon's eclipse card) as Key (29) in addition they number the Sun as (19) when that is another MOON number (the Moon takes 19 years to complete its cycle of Lunations) But by simply re-numbering the FOOL as (1) one instead (0) Zero - everything is put back in order - the High Priestess becomes (3)- the 8 of cups becomes (30) the Sun card becomes (20) and the Moon card becomes (19)! These all correspond, when the current numbering doesn't - perhaps this was done intentionally to keep the true numbering of the deck an esoteric secret that only adepts are aware of. See my video on Palindromic Pairs in the Tarot kzbin.info/www/bejne/kJ7RgnadiamNkJI * The ONLY error is on Key 13 the Hanged One (like the inclusivity) - but associating the card to Neptune instead of Uranus like it should be. The Hanged man makes the gesture of the number 8 with his arms and the number 4 with his legs spelling out the number 84 which is the number of years it takes Uranus to orbit the Sun. Correlating this card to Uranus (making more sense since this card also illustrates the Yggdrasil tree - Which means Odin's Gallows- Clearly Uranus (Sky God) and NOT Neptune (the God of the Sea) But this level of accuracy is still remarkable because this is the only Key that got it wrong - the other associations are 100% spot on, even ones that are easily confused like associating the Fool with the Sun instead of Uranus, or the Magician to the Sun instead of Mercury which are commonly made mistakes. There is further confirmation in the Court Cards where the Page and Knight of Cups both become Master Palindromes Key 33 and Key 77 respectively, as Adepts know, these cards relate to Astrological sign of Pisces, which were later coopted by Christians to represent Christ. In addition to Weiser's brilliance - The cards are also more inclusive - featuring different skin tones and opening the up Rider-Waite Tarot imagery to everyone, I cannot commend the creator of this deck enough!

My only issue with some of the rider waite decks is some have a grey pillar on the high priestess card instead of White like its supposed to be. The J pillar.

I thought “just another RWS! 🤨” I have a small collection of RWS, but my love is TdM. The diversity is great, the color is superb! 😍 I feel this is a RWS I could use and use with confidence. This just maybe the deck that gets me reading RWS 😉 Thank you for showcasing and I look forward to receiving my copy soon.
