Yes, they are a labour of love, but I enjoy making them.

Thanks again for your great tutorials-can you type a word in a fill or just a single letter?

Hi Karen, If you have Designer Plus, you can actually stamp in your own pattern of needle penetrations. The tool used is the Carving Stamp. You can read about it in the Reference Manual starting on page 640. I do have two older videos demonstrating this tool. Here are the links. Part 1 kzbin.info/www/bejne/rarUgJZ7nL2ClaM Part 2 kzbin.info/www/bejne/qJmyY5VsiMmpfpo Unfortunately with the Creator level you are limited to the in built fills.

What is the longest you would recommend for a stitch length for the maximum to be safe. Just learning this but not sure when to stop for it to be done correctly? I hope you understand what I am asking. thank you for all of this information it is really helping me to understand. So much to learn.

Very good question Tammy. I like to keep my satin stitches around the 4 to 6 mm length, but it does depend on what the design is going to be sewn on. Satin stitch will pull the fabric in more than step fill, so long satin stitches on a finer fabric would not be a good idea. On a heavier fabric with a good stabiliser you might be able to get away with slightly longer stitches.

Can you add a straight line through any satin stitches that are too wide and then group them and stitch the lines with the same color of clear monofilament thread?

See my reply to your previous comment. Also yes, you can stitch over longer satin stitches. You do not need to group the objects. If you want to use monofilament then just make the line a different color so you can stop and change the thread. As with any design check your stitch order and start and end points to reduce unneccessary jumps.
