I don't think that Thordan went to Azys Lla at all in the Alternate timeline. Keep in mind, the only way to get into Azys Lla was by getting the key from Bismarck. Thordan stole that key from us after we defeated Bismarck and we pursued him from there. I think that, instead of waiting around for us to do it, he decided to try and take on Bismarck himself. But in order to do that, he'd need something powerful that could also fly, which fits the dragons to a T. So he marches on the Churning Mists to temper the dragons there and was going to use them to attack Bismarck, but we stopped him before he could go further than that.
