Beautifully done. Although I envisioned this more of a marching song sung by soldiers. The tempo was a bit slow.

Thank you!🤗 Yeah, i know. When the song was in the planning stage, I thought "just don't write a boring slow song, it should be a universal song for marching and drinking." But it turned out as usual! However, if I got into the Red Hand Squad, I would have sung that way - now I know it for sure😂

I love this rendition of the song, but I will say that it’s probably not very accurate to how they sung it in the book. The version by Reflections of Sound is probably the most accurate tbh. This is good though. I could see it being sung at a soldier funeral

It's based on a marching song from the American Civil War, I think it was.

I feel like this version of the song would be a good one for the end credits if the episode ends on a melancholy note of the Band of the Red Hand marching to the Last Battle. However, I don’t think it would work as well if sung as the march plays on screen. Meaning Amazon will do the latter, not the former because that’s just how they treat the series

You are right. As far as I remember correctly, for the first time in the book this song was sung after the battle (spoiler: when Ayil K. was killed). The soldiers sat by the fires, drank and sang this song. That is why my song is so "relaxed"

I like your version, but risking an autistic correction, its too slow. This song was modeled to follow GarryOwen, an Irish marching tune. Shit I wish I wasn't nerdy enough to know that. It's supposed to be a merry jig after survivig a battle you thought would kill you, not a balad.
