The new casting for Matt is perfect for the book 3+ Matt. Barney made a better book 1 Matt. So they lucked out on the timing of this.

Reports have it that Donal is seeking to speak closer to Barney's S1 accent (working-class southern English) than his own Irish. But inevitably, some of his native accent will slip in on occasion.

Does Rand speak with a Dutch accent, Does Egwene with an Australian, or Nynaeve with a NZ one? A production like this will have a voice coach working with the cast so everyone has similar regional accents. Australian and New Zealanders are especially good at doing other accents, they have to, to be able to get work in the US.

@Harldin They do have dialect coaches, but it's not always straightforward. Egwene's accent is quite posh compared to Mat's and Perrin's. Uno speaks with a very different accent than the other Shienarans. They do what works for the actors and sounds good.

Bruh the original Matt is better like idk how to explain it but he’s looks way more better and natural, this other dude that took his role isn’t it especially when we watched a whole season and story around the character Matt and now in season 2 they will change it to a different person
