When I was in Turkey back in the early 1970's with my husband, who was then in the US Air Force, I became aware of the famous Whirling Dervishes---but just now realize there is a spiritual connection to their dancing! I enjoyed this video very much---but the narrator spoke so quickly I could not read all of what he was saying---I'm sorry I missed the deeper meaning of this dance! I feel a resonance with this music and movement that is very comforting as I am spending time alone today! Thank You for this video!

There is not much difference between Islam and Christianity. Islam Mary's St. He sanctifies Jesus. Muslims love and respect them. Only St. He argues that Jesus is a prophet of God. He says that the trinity of father, son and holy spirit is a concept that has been misinterpreted over time. Verse 3 of Surah Ikhlas "He did not give birth and was not born. He has no equal." Muslims He also accepts that Jesus will come to earth before the apocalypse. If so, you can reach the truth by putting aside prejudices and listening to your heart. regards

Ohhh, and I did once another move in a dance, no one though me, I bearly watched TV around that time, 5ish years later I see it done by a group of dancers on TV, what does that mean? I didn't had audience around me, as far as I remember, not a big crowd anyway... @@ardalanhamedi6974 what do you mean by mektab?
@ardalanhamedi69744 жыл бұрын
mektab is the way of worship or getting knowledge in one movement ( could be relegion or science ) Mowlana( Rumi) heard and got something spiritual from God and started to orbit around himelf. After that some of the excited follower thought this is the way to get that knowledge and perception and made a sufism mektab ( mektab in arabic could translate to school) from it. He( Rumi) didn't make it. It was something personal that he connected in that way. Doesnt mean that everyone can get connection like this. Major Islam branches both Sunnis and Shia are not accepting this and they are called the follower distracted muslims. But he was assuming himself muslim. Anyway the sufism turned to a branch of Islam. And now is accepted globally but with many conflicts and disagreements to the main branches.( My family were sufi but sufism in Iran is so many kind and different than the other lands) I am not anymore.( These are just my information. I'm not rushing to anyone and everyone are respectful to me. Anyway, the way that Turkey right now is making money with tourism out of Sema ( so called dance) is totally against Mowlana's believes. Money and any transient were mortal to him. And the argue and struggle for owning Rumi to one land between Afghanestan, Tajikestan, Iran, and Turkey is nonesense according to this poet ( poet is in Persian) You can try google translate it can show you some facts. "Moulana Jalaaluddeen Rumi (Rahmatullaahi Alayh) was a Wali of a very high ranking, an Aalim and a master of Tasawwuf. To attribute the ‘whirling Zikr’ to him is wholly incorrect. He never did this. This has been attributed to him by people who are unaware of him and his teachings. Mufti Siraj adds: The Sufis of old had a practice called Simaa’. This was a gathering of Sufis who were all 40 years of age or older, in which they would recite poems in Praise of Allah Ta’aala and His Rasool (Sallallaahu Alayhi wa Sallam). Due to their strong Love for Allah and His Rasool, these poems would have an extremely invigorating and inspiring effect on their hearts and souls, and would enhance their spiritual effulgence tremendously. In this gathering there were no dancing, or any musical instruments. Moulana Jalaaluddeen Rumi and his contemporary Sufis participated in this Simaa’. However, later on this Simaa’ was modernized to include dancing and music, thus giving rise to the concept of “whirling dervishes”. This is a Bid’ah and is not the creation of orthodox Sufism. This is a total Innovation and haram . You don't act like gruggards to get closer to God. Prophet and his companions *never* ever did smthg stupid like this,and infact prophet has strictly warned us against inoo ated acts in islam,saying they lead to hell

Dancing is art. But such claim that it will make you closer to God is nonsensical. Likewise some believe Christian tattoos will get us closer to Jesus... this is insane!

Fabio Giovanni it’s the intent. If you actually watched and read you’d see they even say it’s the intent from the heart behind the ritual. Removal of the cardigan to remove earthly aspects, calling to god Al lah as they spin, sharing god with the world signified by the hands. It’s really beautiful and expression of love and a movement of intent to grow closer. It’s not just dance.

Astagfirullah! Music, dancing is haram. Dancing to get closer to Allah! Instead of wasting time on dancing it's better to study Quran and Hadith and follow the Sunnah of prophet Muhammad (pbuh).
@Omarions3 жыл бұрын
How about you stop being triggered, acting like the haram police on the internet and instead appreciate whatever way people find and strive to get closer to God. Who tells you that they don't do the things you talk about as well? Stop judging others and look at yourself in the mirror, live your own life, and more importantly let others live too.

Astagfirullaah , this is not Islam !! Nowhere in the Qur'an it is mentioned that dancing will get you closer to God. God said in the Quran that the only way to reach him is to follow His commands that He has revealed upon Prophet Muhammad (Peace and Blessings of Allah be upon him). Our prophet never said , nor did , nor taught us to do this. Instead he said that Allah has made music and dancing forbidden for us. May Allah guide all the Muslims { In Arabic language "Muslim" means someone who has submitted his will to Allah(God) } and all the Non Muslims to the correct Islam. Aameeen.

Tasawwuf was already practiced by the earliest followers of the Prophet (pbuh), for example by him who was called the most celebrated of the tābiʿūn, Hasan al-Basra. It has been a part of Islam since it’s earliest days.

Do you have evidence from the Quran and sunnah that dancing brings you closer to Allah ? If you don’t then it’s a biddah and every biddah is evil misguidance that takes you to hell If you don’t then it means rasool allah ﷺ either didn’t tell us about it or that he hid it from us?!!!

GeZinafeZ 'Umar ibn Khattab, the companion of Prophet and second caliph of muslim community reported: One day the Messenger of Allah asked us for donations (for the newly established community). The desire came to me to surpass Abu Bakr, who had always been ahead of me in every good deed, I brought a fortune representing half of all I possessed and came to the presence of the Prophet. The Holy Prophet enquired of Umar as to what he had left behind for himself and his family. Umar stated that he had donated one half of his wealth in the name of Allah and had left one half for himself and his family. Then Abu Bakr came in with a large sack of gold and placed it at the feet of our Master. The Holy Prophet put him the same question. Abu Bakr answered that he has donated all his wealth. Then the Messenger of Allah, looking at me, asked Abu Bakr, "Why haven't you kept anything for your children?" Abu Bakr answered, "My family and children are in the care of Allah and His Messenger." After this incident Abu Bakr was not visible for a few days and did not appear at the mosque of the Prophet. Feeling a void in the absence of Abu Bakr, the Prophet asked his whereabouts. The companions answered that Abu Bakr had distributed all his possessions and that he had nothing to wear except a piece of cloth, which he shared with his wife, each of them using it alternatively to wrap themselves at the time of prayer. At that time the Prophet asked Bilal al-Habashi to go to the house of Prophet's daughter, Fatimah and asked her if she had an extra piece of clothe that could be brought to Abu Bakr so that he could clothe himself and come to the mosque. All that the noble Fatimah had was one extra piece of woolen cloth made of goat hair. When Abu Bakr wrapped it around his waist, it was too short. So he sewed some date palm leaves to it so that he could cover himself decently, and took the road to the mosque. Before he arrived, Archangel Gabriel appeared to our Master in the same unseemly outfit that Abu Bakr was wearing. When the Prophet said to Gabriel that he had never seen him in such strange clothes, Gabriel replied that today all the angels in the heaven were so dressed to honor Hazrat Abu Bakr, the loyal, generous and faithful. Allah Most High was sending blessings and salutation to Abu Bakr. Gabriel said, "Tell him his Lord is pleased with Him if he is pleased with his Lord." When Abu Bakr came into the presence of our Master and heard the good news from the lips of beloved Prophet, he got up, thanked Allah, said, "Indeed I am pleased with my Lord!" and in his joy whirled around three times. - quoted from Ibn al-Husayn al-Sulami's Kitab al-Futuwwah (The Way of Sufi Chivalry). Ibn al-Husayan is a highly respected sufi saint and scholar of the 10th century and the book is founded on very strong isnad (chain of authorities).

Dancing is an illusion of shaitaan the devil I am also a sufi but this dancing groups have created a bad name for sufism. Dancing and music is a sin that takes you away from allah. Just to earn money and worldly desires this people had taken sufism to some other path deviated from right path and created a concoction and manipulation of sufi teachings.
